I have a fairly complete original Japanese Famicom setup that has never been used (by me).
At time of purchase, it was in the original box, inserts, and styrofoam and very, very much appearing like new.  There is some light scuffing on the controllers, but I can't detect anything else.  Inside is clean, too.

Cosmetically and functionally is it quite new.  I recently cleaned it to remove what little dust and dirt there was.
It has been tested as working with a Japanese RF switch on a Japanese television.

Pricing:
SOLD

It consists of the game console and requisite AC adapter, Western RF switch (from a SNES coax adapter) for use on non-Japanese televisions, plus the attached controllers.

Also included is the original Japanese manual. The only thing missing here is the box, which was discarded (sadly) in Japan.

Also includes game carts:

Mother;
Gradius;
Gradius II (CIB, very good condition with manual intact and minimal label wear)
Dr. Mario (CIB, box shows some edge wear, but the cartridge, manual, and insert are mint)

The warranty on the back of the manual identifies it as having been purchased on May 2, 1991 at JUSCO (supermarket) in Sano City, Tochigi prefecture. Warranty no longer valid (19 years...).  Upon inspection of the inside of the case, we find that it is stamped from 1988.

I would prefer to unload this as a whole set, but I am open to breaking it into pieces if you're interested in only some games or only console, etc.

How much are you looking to get for it?

Also just FYI Famicom games weren't sold sealed, so that shrinkwrapped Gradius is a "reseal." (I think stores in Japan tend to do this a lot, but I've never been to Japan, so I can only state that I've purchased online lots of resealed games from Japan, none of them sold as "new" it just seems to be how they keep the box in a good condition, I guess.

Yeah, I had a feeling about the shrinkwrap, but wasn't sure.
Regardless, from what I can tell without opening the plastic -- or should I? -- it is in very good condition.  When I bought it in the shop I seem to recall that it was listed as like new or something like that.

As for pricing, why don't you PM me with what you consider a sane offer.  I am open to negotiating something that works with shipping and everything, provided it's not an insane lowball amount.

I would note that with the exception of Dr. Mario, this selection of carts is not super rare, but nevertheless among the more sought-after ones that sell briskly on eBay.

You might as well open it just so you know what's actually inside and what the condition is. The manual could be dog-eared or stained, the cart could have label wear, etc etc. There could even not be a manual inside.

I'll have to try to figure out what a good price for a regular Fami is, and if I can afford it...

I opened the shrink wrap -- it's all in really good condition and it has the manual.

Many stores seal games so that people can't take out stuff from the boxes. Petty theft seems to be quite rampant in Japan. I've heard stories of school kids stealing new manga books from a store and then directly sell those at Book-Off or another used book store.
