if you havent already seen in the "finds (all others)" i got a genesis model 2 and if i dont sell it i might want to mod it, does anyone have any cool CHEAP EASY genesis mods?

Well you can always mod it to fit Megadrive games by simply drilling out the plastic around the casing. This of course still limits you to software compatible Megadrive games, but at least they'll fit.

Edit: The below doesnt work for a model 2. Heres how to region mod a model 2 http://www.instructables.com/id/Sega-Genesis-Model-2-Region-Mod/

ill just leave the below here for others with a model 1

If you are importing later md games, you should really do a region mod. Im not sure where the points on the board are for a model 2, but its simply cutting a trace, soldering three wires, and adding a spdt switch. It should look like this on the board somewhere:

(  )      (  ). JP1
 I
(. )----(. )  JP2

jp2 is us, jp1 is japanese. Cut the trace between the two jp2 pads. Now solder wires on the right jp1 pad, right jp2 pad, and one of either pads on the left, theyre both connected. Take the wire you soldered to the right jp1 pad and solder it on to one of the end prongs. Do the same with the right jp2 pad on the opposite side. The wire from the left pads goes in the middle. Just drill a hole in your case and youve got a language modded genesis! Some board revisions like the later model ones might have jp1 and jp2 side by side, but its the same thing, althought the trace might be on the bottom of the board. So far my only use for this is to change tails name in sonic 2 to miles  :P
