Hi everyone,

(new to forums, sorry in advance)

I recently purchased several Famicom games, along with a converter so that I can play them on my NES. Through the converter, half of the games work, while the other half won't load. They only produce a glitch screen.

Any ideas as to what's up? (games were advertised as working)

If you can get at least a couple games to work without problems at all, then it's not the converter (Unless you have a bunch of special games, or a really crappy converter that has a low compatibility rate).  More than likely, it's the games.  Get some isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, and rub it on the contacts.  Do it to the converter too, while you're at it.  If it's a dirt-related problem, that'll take care of it.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

Yeah, it may sound dumb - but I had some pirate carts where the boards were inserted backwards - so I had to insert the cart in reverse (so it's actually facing forward now! :o) But I doubt any official carts will be that way. :-\
