Question about famicom

If a famicom looks like this, is the lid broken?

No, it means it's open. Unlike other consoles (that I'm aware of, at least) you have to open and close the lid manually.

I don't see anything wrong with it myself..
The famicom flap does open and close, but maybe I'm missing something?
What makes you think it's broken?
