Help me figure out what the hell is going on in my basement.

A while back I made a thread about my NES satellite not working correctly. At first I thought it was caused by rust (due to its horrid previous home), but I checked and it looked all good. I would occasionally gets signs of life, very briefly. While using my Wii, the remote would display the wrong battery percentage and disconnect from the unit. Is there some sort of video game-hating poltergeist in my basement?  ???

is the basement fully below ground and has stone or concrete walls? could just be a bad spot for getting any service....

Concrete, fully underground. I don't think it has anything to do with "service". If anything, less radio waves should mean less interference! But I don't know what could interrupt a bluetooth connection and infrared.

Could be some stange mold (fungus) covering your electrical contacts (basement is their common whereabout). Buy a humidity meter and check that out! You shouldn't have too humid environment for storing electronics.

I doubt it would be that. They've only been down there for a few months, and it's not humid at all.

Not a poltergeist.  ;)

Any other devices in your basement that use infrared (aside from remote controls)? Sometimes the sensors pick up on other emitters--or even certain types of lights/reflections (try putting out a string of christmas lights near your wii sensor bar and then try to use your wiimote & you'll see what I mean). Any lights near your TV? Try it with them turned off. What kind of TV are you using?

Disconnect the wii sensor bar since it uses infrared LEDs for triangulation and see if your Satellite works okay. Your wiimotes are probably exibiting weird behavior because of the Satellite's IR for the same reason, so disconnect it when playing your wii.

I haven't, not enough time. There is an incandescent bulb right next to my tv, if that makes a difference.
