Hi,

I'm looking for some interesting multicarts to play on my AV Famicom.

Does anyone know which and possibly where to locate multicarts that are compatible with Nintendo hardware and not just the clones?

satoshi_matrix

well, the vast majority of multicarts DO work on the original hardware. There are only a handful of examples that do not. I wouldn't worry about that.

Strider_Hiryu

Maybe he´s talking about the new multicarts, a lot of them have graphics issues with original hardware  :'(

With the old multicarts you will not have problems, but with the newer ones (like volumerates) you may have them, better ask about the certain cartridge here :redcart:

Thanks for the answers. Are there any places which are better than others to visit online, when looking to buy one of these older multicarts?

Cheetahmen

By my experience, the only multicarts that don't work on real Famicom systems are the newer multicarts that boast a lot of games and Korean "Magic Game" carts. A pity, considering that the former tend to have a lot of games and all of the games on the Magic Game 1 cart I have are awesome. :'(

just start a post in the buy sell trade forum here and you will get a ton of responses i bet.....

Famiclones can be found pretty cheap, I wouldn't rule out buying a Famiclone just to play those certain multicarts that won't work in original hardware. (If you have one) Plus it could be good just for backup, in case your Famicom bit the dust.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

Well, I'm not sure that those clones will live up to my soon to be RGB moddet AV Famicom, so in case it stops working, the primary thing would be to get it working again :)

But I'll try posting in the buy/sell/trade forum, to see if someone has any interesting multicarts for sale, that is supported on original hardware.
