Could I Use A Famicom Cart For A Pin Adapter Case?

I was looking online for a 60 to 70 pin adapter I could buy for a friend that I'm visiting this summer as a belated b-day gift, but most of the ones with cases are over the budget I want to spend. If I bought the cheaper option of just the 60 to 70 pin circuit board, could I fit it into an extra Famicom cart I have? When I got my Twin Famicom for x-mas, I got a Mahjong game as a gift with purchase. Not only is it 100% Japanese, but I can't figure out how to play it. I have a feeling I'd still be bored, even if I figured it out! Could I take the  Mahjong board out of the Famicom cart, put the pin adapter into it, then do some fancy cutting and gluing to get it looking good enough to use on a top loading NES clone I can get at the con I'm going to that weekend?

I already have a pin adapter I miraculously got for $15 at a pawn shop, but I'm using it on my Retron 3, I'm trying to get everything for under $100, so this might be the cheapest option! I might keep the Famicom cart pin adapter for myself, and give her the 'TV Game Computer Cartridge Converter' that I got at the pawn shop. I might buy a boxed converter from Mexico I found on eBay, then get the circuit board later and do my converter as a personal project. If anyone is willing to sell me a 60 to 72 pin adapter in a plastic shell that's cheaper than the $30 I found on eBay (including shipping to Canada), let me know!
