hey there everyone, I just got my Famicom a couple of day ago, and I've just got to testing it. I got on of the 3in1 power adapters so I know that the power should be fine and shouldn't fry the system. My problem is that I get no video or sound out of the system.  I'm connection through coax and am on channel 95. I can tell something is getting through cause the static stops and the screen turns black.   I can't get any pictures up until later, but does anyone know of any problems that would cause this?   Thanks for the help guys!

Elrinth

have you tried opening it up and looked at the boards and stuff? if they are filled with shit it probably will work bad :)

EvilGamerX

I got to opening up  my system, and this is what it looks like inside.  Nothing seems to be wrong, but then again, I know nothing.

Elrinth

nope looks pretty good, what about the side with the components? also please be careful, remember these are delicate things :)

Here are some shots of the other side of the system.  As far as I can tell everything seems to be okay, maybe it's the cartridge slot?

Switches must be "1 CH" and "GAME"

P.S. nice hardware pr0n
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

Thank you, and yea, it's already set to game and 1ch, I can set it to 2ch and turn to channel 96, but the same thing, just a black screen.

Even in the US, all TVs doesn't work due to the Japanese NTSC being slightly different. Try another TV if you can.

Also make sure your cartridge connector and your games are clean.

And what are you using for RF.

I'm using a standard NES RF adapter

The thing is, the black screen was on a crt I only have access to once a week or two (in college close to home), the tv i have with me is an Insignia HD tv, and I have given up on trying to get it to work on that

EvilGamerX

Hey everyone, just posting an update on the system. I've tried hooking up the system with another rf adapter I bought and still nothing. I've tried cleaning both the cart and slot as much as I can to see if it wasn't just bad connection but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks again for the help

Why don't you try and av mod it.

I was trying to keep the system as   close  as its original state as  possible, and I don't really trust my soldering skills to do the mod.

Is there anyone who does repairs/av mods here on the forum?
