Yeah I read that article. I'm planning on burying my systems underground with no way for them to get oxygen.....

I don't know much about the yellowing of the Famicom. It is probably very similar to the SNES, but the SNES is slightly different and isn't pure white, like the Famicom. I imagine the most damage to the Famicom can be done with direct sunlight. I have seen Famicoms that are only half yellow, where the sunlight hit the Famicom only halfway. So, indirect sunlight would not seem to cause as much damage. I think it's good to keep your Famicom away from direct sunlight and away from windows -- that's if you plan on reselling it someday or  if you are one of those crazy "everything must be mint" collectors. :P

I think it have to do with the plastic and all of kind of plastics around there.

I mean, I think some series of Famicoms or Sneses come with some type of plastic and other not, some of those releases come with the "bad" plastic who suffer that yellowed effect.

& some come with top half bad plastic & bottom half good plastic. :P That weird SNES...

It is ok to have your famicom in a room with a window, but it cannot be near the window. it is preferable to put it on the other side of the room where there is no sunlight reaching it. The first release snes with the sticker near the power button WILL NOT get yellowed. I have one and I love that about it. My famicom is white, but I have seen ones that are yellow and its nasty, haha.

Man, if you're in Argentina and you call tacky to an Electrolab for sure you would be killed.
Actually, if someone had an extra Famicom we can do some bussiness :)

Speaking of pc engine shuttle, does it work with the cd drive? it doesnt seem like it would.

switchstance, you definately need to get an ebay account. if your problem is you dont have a visa card for paypal, you can just register your bank account. also, I dont know if you have these in argentina but in the us the bank cards generally are affiliated with visa or mastercard and can be used like a credit card, except they wont work if you have no money in your bank account.

Can't you just be unverified? I've been like that for a while. :P

Just for notice, I have other famiclones more like "FAMICOM" style, I must take some photos, but for sure the most accurate speed/sound it's the electrolab baby, that thing is heavy.
