incredible rarity!

Obake gold on yahoo:

http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h47619796

400.000 Y, box inclusive but I not see manual.

I can't believe somebody wanna buy this kind of thing. Isn't just about money. is about a crappy game millions of times worst than a common one like Contra,  Akumajou or any classic good game. What you can do with Y400.00? You can do a good trip, you can study, or better(in some cases) buy a TONS of very good games.
That's because even living in Japan and doing a good pay job, I don't have any interest to buy too expensive games.
Talking about Famicom, the most expensive game that I bought was Akumajou Dracula cartridge version and Guevara, Y10.000 boths.

Probably is just to say: "I have". :o
^^

You've got it right. I don't know why people collect things they're not going to play. I suppose I've done it from time to time, even a little with Famicom, but I always feel guilty after buying something expensive because I know I won't put it to use.

Nevertheless, it's fun to learn about the rare stuff that's out there. :)

I feel the same way. I only buy Famicom games I first *KNOW* I want. my liberary isn't all that large but it does include many must haves and a few duds (only because I got them packaged with others)

JC

I didn't know this was rare; maybe it's on your list, Gemant.

HERE

game: Isido
software house: Hiro
release date: 1990/12/07 famicom disk game numer n. 191
genre: puzzle game
original price: 500 Y

rare game but I don't think that 40.000 Y is a true value.

Doc

Hmm...I can see why it's rare. Released late in the Disk System's life. How was it? Anyone have more info on it?

The space shooter Summer Carnival '92 Recca is the rarest non-special edition Famicom cartridge if I am not mistaken.

i know people who spent as much as £200 [$400] for smurfs2 nes cart and others less than £10[$20]. i paid £30 [$60] for my 'mario bros. arcade series' nes cart.

i also saw famicom BASIC CIB finish on $30

last auction 200.000 Y +

JC

Was it released by a company or just some kid?

Gemant

mmmh I can search on fami-complete book... I remember that game there is.

however... some not license games or hack games have high bids on yahoo. Also super mario world, Miss Peach World and metal fighter myuu have high price.

JC

It could be by a company...maybe that page manuel linked to says so. But the cart suggests it's either made by the same company who put out those carts/systems or it's by a kid who bought some of those carts and a system and made his own four screen game. Seems more likely, that if it really came from 1986, it's made by the company as a promotion to sell their unlicensed/pirated products.
