I got an fdsloadr cable and it works great for streaming. I tried to write a disk by loaking disk keeper, then when disk keeper ask for the disk i load the fds image ( kid icarus) and it says to set blank disk. So i unplug the fds cable from the ram adapter and plug the ram adapter into the FDS drive and nothing happens.its almost as if the system hangs. FDS functions fine on its own. Its a 7201 chip with a 01 power board. Im at a loss. Streaming is fine but my goal was to write kid icarus back onto a disk i have that was overwritten by some creopatra game.

Thanks in advance.

Stupid question: Does the disk system have power when you're doing this?

If the FDS unit has no power, it can't write or read.

Streaming will work when the disk system has no power.

Hope this helps!!

If you have a normal disk system you will need to write mod it so it can write disks.

Bonneville97

Fds drive has power. According to the tech article no mod is required for a FDS with the 7201 chip and the very first power board revision. It now tries to write the disk and after a few seconds errors out with an error 26 in disk keeper. Could it be an adjustment issue?. Belt looks good to me but that doesnt mean it is. I'll figure it out eventually but any help to help me along would be awesome.

Thanks all,
james

Check, if there is anything on the surface of the disc.
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

disk are clean..i found the problem but don't know how to fix it...every time i unplug the ram adapter from the fdsloadr cable and plug it into the FDS it freezes the screen. I thought it might be because i'm using a universal power supply but even with the power supply unplugged it does the same thing. I think i'm just gonna give up.

thanks for all the help,

James

famiac

Hey! I had the same problem. What kind of console are you using?

Bonneville97

Av famicom...that the issue..need the old school one?

famiac

Yep, i use a twin. I think it works on the titler too, but not sure. It doesn't work with a square button famicom. Is your disk system plugged into a wall or is it running on batteries?

Bonneville97

plugged into wall...i'm going on vacation on Friday so i'll mess with it more when i get back. If an old school famicom is the answer then  i'll be in the market for one.
