Hi everyone,

I would appreciate if someone could find me the origin SMB2 (only released in Japan) for Famicon/Twin Famicon?
And by "origin SMB2", I mean the actual jap cart/FDS game shown as "Lost Levels" on the Allstars cart for SNES/Super Famicon.
Hope I make some sence in my description.

Thanks for any help here.

There's no official cartridge of the game, only the FDS disk. There are various pirates and even patches that turns it into a cartridge but you'll be missing out on the expansion audio if you don't play the original disk version.

Where does smb2j use expansion audio? Repro carts have been around a long time and I've never seen anyone bring that up as an issue.

First, thanks P for your info. Secondly, so what console is the best combo for both Famicon discs and carts? Famicon + discstation, AV Famicom + disc station or Twin Famicon/Twin Famicon Turbo? And what is a fair price tag on these console "combos", you think? And for FDS discs (fairly good condition, playable) ?

I would say Twin Famicom or original Red & White Famicom with AV mod + Famicom Disk System.
AV Famicom is popular but you will be missing out on the microphone for games like Zelda if you pick that.

During the ending. The game basically has the same music as SMB1 but the ending music is expanded upon (and is later used in later SMB games).

So it is quite possible to combine a AV Famicon with a FDS, like one can do with a regular Famicon and a FDS? I didn't know one could. And I do know that a Twin Famicon Turbo have both built in,right?

I've also heard that it is quite common that the FDS on a Twin Famicon is out of order or corruped when one buy them used. Is it know the most common errors so that one might fix them back home?

Thanks

Almost any disk drive you get (whether in a Twin Famicom or a Disk System) will have a broken drive belt, unless it's been replaced by its previous owner. It's a really easy fix though, and buying them broken is much cheaper than buying one that has been repaired.

Ok, egg_sandwich, thank you.
So this drive belt, do you happen to know where can I buy them and where do I find a good place that explains how I can fix it?

The FDS works with any Famicom even with a Twin (although a Twin doesn't need it).

I wouldn't say that it's a really easy fix judging by all the discussions around how to tweak it to read disks again after messing with it. Tototek http://www.tototek.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_35&products_id=106 sells belts cheaply.

Hi again, P, I just sent you a reply and a small question in my other thread/topic.
Thanks for your good info!
