The game wasn't successful at all and went highly unnoticed but, it still has sort of a cult following.
I myself have played it and while it's not perfect, I still have a fondness for it. It's a guilty pleasure.

Heh, as weird as it sounds I remember getting a copy of Speedy Eggbert for my birthday a while back (I ordered it myself in case you're wondering) after I played the demo of it. It's been a while since I played through it but it was fun, even if the gameplay is somewhat basic. There's also a sequel which is more of the same but with extra environments and obstacles.
