I came into possession of this cart some years ago. Want to sell it now. I dnt know who made it in 2001 :(
I don't know what the switch does. I have not used it as what if it erases the game or something. I guess its rare..

ASKING = 95 USD + Shipping from japan

The cart looks like the type I've seen coming out of Thailand time and again, such as this "prototype":

I honestly don't think it is a prototype, rather a 1990s version of a "flash cart", being able to rewrite / dump data to the cart via  a Famicom copier.  But that is just my guess.

It's definitely not a prototype (unless someone switched out the EPROMs). Why would a hacked game be on a prototype cartridge in the first place? Druaga no Tou is a Namco game and Hydlide Special is T&E Soft.

Ohh !! I am so sorry , someone local sold it to me saying it was a prototype and I paid a high price for that... :( :( :( what is it worth? 1990 version of a flash cart? :(

Ok , So its not a prototype .. but is a 'PROTOTYPING' cart... a cart used to test games probably..  ::) :P :o ;D

Oh so it's a Fami-Corder cart. It's probably a Fami-Corder copy of some Chinese pirate game (that was slightly modified to make it look like a new game). Fami-Corder can probably only copy NROM games and maybe some simple mappers, so it's not incredibly useful nowdays.

Oh I'm sorry! :( It's not worth as much as a real prototype (although it's still a very neat thing to have).

BTW since it's using EPROMs I guess the switch can't erase the game. EPROMs must be erased in UV-light (remove the label to expose the EPROM windows and cook it in an EPROM eraser). Maybe the switch is for changing banks or something (like you can have two games on one cart).

The notable '2001' on the title screen should be somewhat of a giveaway ;)
