Famicom power glove works on NES?

Sorry if it has been asked before, but I have a Japanese power glove without the little adapter to put it into a FC console.
I was surprised to see that the famicom power glove has the same connector as a NES.
So my question is, is the NES power glove exactly the same as a NES power glove and works on a NES ? (I don't have a NES to try it out)
