Gameboy Pocket Repair

Hey guys,  I picked up a couple gameboy pockets that don't seem to be working.  I put in new batters and when i turn the systems on the LED turns on for a split second and then dies.  So I know it gets power.  I went over some of the old solder joints but still no luck.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Try with an AC adapter  i had trouble in the past with DMG's and GBP's that they do not work on batteries but work fine on AC.
