Dead Player 1 Controller Port on AV Famicom

I have an AV Famicom that has a dead player 1 port.  I already confirmed the Player 2 port is fine and my Hudson Joycard mk2 controller works fine through the ext port. I already check for poor soldering joints and even reflowed the player 1 port for good measure. It's still dead.  I'm hoping it's a bad component and not the J10 ic chip. Any suggestions on which direction I should next?
