How would you recommend getting back into Famicom?

I've recently been trying really hard to get back into Famicom, but I have been struggling. I just bought new games a month or so ago, yet I don't play them much after the first few days of owning them. I wan't to rekindle my interest in the system and am not sure how to, I'm not sure if anyone else has had this experience or something similar so I thought I would ask anyone who's willing to answer: How would you recommend getting back into Famicom?

Thanks :)

Thank you for the reply! I've tried playing, but for some reason it's hard to motivate myself to play very often :/

call friends to play together :) try: Battle City,  Contra, Silk Worm, Jackal, Crisis Force,Chip and Dale 1, and 2 those are in mine mind for 2 players  ;)

That's actually not a bad idea, the challenge is just getting my friends to actually want to play such an old console  ::)

I am sure that there are retro gamers in your  crowd  :)
In my case there is no way someone to make me paling modern games :D

My friends have played some of my Famicom before, but they usually just prefer watching me play, which isn't as fun with friends lol.

sometimes we are watching each other paling singnal player games , it depends on a game , for example The Little Nemo , Kyrby, Mario 3, Buble Buble 2 (in it have 2 players mode, but they are on the tern not together)
and many others are fun even for watch other paling them  ;)

Yeah it can be fun to watch sometimes! I probably need some more 2 player games as well I've only got ones where the players take turns, which isn't usually as fun.

I get in the mood to play a certain game (no matter if I've played it before or not) after having discussed it, read an interesting article or review about it. It's not restricted to Famicom though.

I don't think it's something you have to worry about, and certainly not something you should try force yourself into. These things can go through phases. You might like playing more modern games for a time, and then one day you feel like getting into something more straight-forward that doesn't take five minutes just to get past the loading screens. Don't worry about it.

Yeah I think you're right about this. I'll just give it some more time, forever a famicom fan though 8)

I hardly get to play games anymore - so I found it really handy to setup a Fami station in the bedroom and I try and play around 15 mins or so every other night, I suppose like reading a book before bed.  I end up playing a lot now.

So I think reducing your expectations, making it easy to play, and easy to play often with no strings attached may be just what you're looking for :)

I've taken your advice, I set up a nice convenient spot to play whenever the thought arises. Thanks for the tip!

I've gotten out of playing my FC after my FDS broke, so I'm gonna try your tips!
What also helps for me is opening up the console and seeing what makes it tick. I don't know why it works for me.
Can't find the FDSLoadr PC program? Get it here. It took me way too long to find.
