Hola all,

I am after a Twin Famicom and am based in the UK, so I guess a UK seller would be best now we've left the EU but I don't think it matters too much, as long as it works and the price is right (due to the new VAT and customs rules).

If anyone could oblige, or has some tips on getting one, I'd be most appreciative. I might also consider a Famicom Disk System but I'd have to mod my Famicom to get it working, which I'm going to try but I really don't trust myself!

Thanks.

Hey Sie,

I would be interested, yes. I am doing my Famicom AV mod this weekend....if I pluck up the courage...so if it works, I'll probably go the disk route. If it doesn't, I'll probably save for a Twin Famicom instead.
Are you UK based? (just thinking about potential P&P costs). Thanks.

Sie1984

Yes Uk based i would say if we wasnt in lockdown if you were anywhere near Birmingham you could come down and have a look but cant see us coming out anytime soon.

I personally have not done an av mod but it dont look too bad so im sure you will manage it.

Im in the process of modding one of my famicom disks so i can start copying games which again is an easy process all the disk systems i have are the 7201 drives so they do not need modding just the power board which are all version 4 so if u ever wanted to mod one in the future its an easy process as long as you have a 7201 drive.

Good luck with the av mod im sure youll manage it 👍🏻

Bloody hell, I'm a Brummie. I moved down South (which is an expensive place to restart your retrogaming collection) a few years ago for work. My family is still there, so  when lockdown ends, I'm going to send my brother out for some bits, as any console/game is three to four times more expensive down here.

Great info about the 7201, I had no idea. Someone else here told me about the 02 Famicom board I have, which has the easier mod. I'll let you know how the mod goes.....I blew up an electric toothbrush, so this should be interesting.

Sie1984

Lol no way although im from west brom but live in brum.

Jeez three to four times as dear wow.

Yeah power board 1 needs no modding board 2 sometimes needs modding which is basic. Most boards need simple modifications nothing too major.

I just fixed one disk drive added new belt and recalibrated it tested and working with 15 games everytime.

One i was looking at the other night just wont calibrate ive left it for now 🤦🏼‍♂️

Do you really have to quote each other every time? Look how this topic looks like now! I don't even bother reading it, it makes me sick...

Sie1984

Might do it even more now i know it annoys you.

Well unless you're offering a Twin Famicom or Famicom Disk, I'm sure we'll survive without your contribution.

Sie1984

😂😂 quoted just to make you vomit

Hey guys, while it doesn't bother me nearly as much as MWK, I personally think you should stop all of this quoting stuff. Quoting you every time you post when nobody else has responded besides you two is a violation of Rule No. 5 of the forum rules:

Quote5. You do not have to quote a member's post if you are the first person to respond to it. In other words, don't read the latest post in thread and hit the QUOTE button. Hit the REPLY button. There are only two reasons to hit quote: either the post you want to reply to was posted previous to the latest reply or you want to pick out one phrase or sentence from a post, in which case you'll have to edit the quote to pick out that one phrase or sentence."

I assume you read the rules before joining here so I'm just reminding you of them. The reason this is done is for keeping the forum more visually pleasing, which was the same reason image signatures were banned. I'm not a mod or something, so I can't do something beyond encouraging you to stop, but it would be nice to follow what the rules say and keep what you were talking about without quoting yourselves like this.
De todo un poco es el sabor de la vida, ida y vuelta en lo de siempre, empobrece y deja roto.

P

I agree, and besides being a rule violation I'm also annoyed by this kind of posting. There is no a reason to quote the immediately previous post in full, it just artificially makes the thread longer.

UglyJoe

So does anyone have a Twin Famicom to sell this guy or what :D

I am new to this forum but neither new to process or forums, I would therefore encourage you to read the rule again. It clearly states 'You do not have to' (that doesn't mean you can't) and offers guidance as to when there are reasons to hit quote. I actually made a mistake in on of my posts (hence it looking so messy) but the other referenced the post in separate terms, so imo, was worth being quoted.
I have deleted some of the quotes now, to assist some people personal daemons around the matter.

I won't post the rules themselves, as I don't need to flex, further indulge the off topic approach or break rule 11 but I would encourage you read the rules before participating here, specifically 2 and 11. Therefore, unless you're offering a Twin Famicom or Famicom Disk?, I'm sure we'll survive without your contribution and the same goes for others who also due to not staying on topic, artificially made the thread longer.

Sie, I didnt manage to get the AV mod done. I'm planning it this week (I've take some days off) and will let you know about a disk. Someone local might have the RAM piece (he's never had a Famicom Disk but his gaming accessory collection is insane), so I'm trying to negotiate a price with him.

UglyJoe;  'thumbs up'.

Sie1984

Wow people are easily triggered if thats all you have to worry about is people quoting on top of quotes then jeez u need to get out more.

Doesitmatter- sounds like a plan if you can get one of those ram adaptors your part way there.

Let me know how you get on.
