The LED in my AN-500R does not light up. I read 120mv. Does someone if that is the correct voltage to the power LED?

Any tips on what to look for in a replacement given modern LEDs? Not likely to find a pointy tipped straight swap but 2mm or 3mm seems to fit into the plastic bracket that holds the LED.

Hey, I've just seen this. I rarely come to the forums as all my stuff has been working fine.

I have the AN-500R. When i got it i thought the LED wasn't working and didn't have any disks so never found out till later on that it was a disk activity light. Did not like that too much so i added a 5v LED into the mix to show power on and another to show disk activity.

I got rid of the pointy LED and used hotglue to push into the original hole so it sat where the point of the original LED sat. This glue acts as a nice diffuser. Then I just replaced the LEDs. One from the 7805 regulator and one in the original LED wiring. I used 5v LEDs and have never had any problems. My Twin now has a green light for power on and when the disk is active the blue LED shows. This is all through the little hole. The blue overpowers the green light so it looks like i've done some sort of magic but ive not.

Hope this helps. Im quite the master of using hotglue aggressively to get my results. I did have to adjust the LED holder a little to get the double LEDs in. But these famicoms are our faithful servants and will bend to our demands.
