Good evening, everyone! I am extremely excited to announce that Doodle World, Wampus, and Volt have all been released on the Famicom! I've been working on all of these projects for months, and I am really happy to finally see them come to fruition.

DOODLE WORLD
Doodle World is such a fun platformer. I had heard a lot of praise for the game when it was first released, and I was blown away when I first tried it. The graphics really do make the game feel quite special, and it's also a heartwarming story as the game was developed by a father and daughter team.

I had showed the game to several people locally and they were all blown away by the game's style and graphics. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to see the game on Famicom, in hopes that a whole other audience could discover and enjoy it.

One of the things common in parts of Asia is the concept of the cram school. Essentially, children will go to after school programs for maths or English or something like that when they are finished with their primary school classes. Anyways, from my experience, so many of those students would basically carry a whole stationery shop worth of supplies with them when attending such classes. I can only imagine how many young kids were playing with their pencils and erasers back in the day while attending English classes, imagining that they were playing some video game of sorts. To me that makes Doodle World even better, as essentially the stationery supplies come alive in it.

Included with the Famicom release are three Doodle World crayons and a Doodle World eraser featuring the evil King Eraser.

WAMPUS
I've always had a love for Wampus, since I first played it back in 2019. There are some good one-liners in the game, and it feels like a traditional 8-bit adventure game, like the Legend of Zelda, only it's more relaxed as it was designed to be completed in one sitting.

For me, it was vital to include an overworld map with Wampus, as these types of games all had maps included when released back in the day. I think the map turned out pretty well, and took a few artistic liberties when creating it, with input of course provided by the game developer. I'm extremely excited about this release and highly recommend taking an afternoon to play Wampus.

VOLT
From M.A. Gamez comes the game Volt. As a throwback to the old Irem games, we decided to include a LED in the cartridge, which lights up when the game is powered on. This one is yellow though, not red.

Volt is a fun game about a scientist who has to stop his ex partner from destroying the city. The game seems simple at first, but it's highly addictive, and there are a lot of neat little details. There are different cutscenes between stages, and the game gives off a superhero vibe.

I've seen some people draw comparisons between this game and the classic game Pitfall. While a bit more simplistic in appearance, I had a lot of fun playing through this one, as it feels quite unique as a Nintendo game.

HOUSE IN THE CEMETERY
House in the Cemetery is one of the best indie games I've played for awhile. As the title somewhat suggests, you go to visit your uncle, who lives in this big mansion situated next to a cemetery. When you show up, your uncle is busy taking care of his own projects, and he wants you to solve the mysteries that have been occurring around the property. Does this sound familiar at all? Well yeah, this game definitely feels somewhat like a tribute to Maniac Mansion.

I popped House in the Cemetery a few months back around 1 in the morning, thinking I'd just take a few screenshots for a project I was working on, before heading to bed. I ended up getting sucked into the game, and the thing is, HitC is a large game. I didn't get finished until a couple hours later, the game just goes through so many layers. It's a really fun one that I highly recommend.
