Dudes with Attitude Part Two

Here's an interesting one. I pondered over what I wanted to do for about half a year, and then I decided to make my fantasy come true, i.e. Dudes with Attitude Part Two.

THE HISTORY:
For those who aren't in the know, the game Trolls on Treasure Island is essentially a sequel to Dudes with Attitude. The characters and some graphics are changed, the story is different, but otherwise the games are more or less the same, other than the fact that the puzzles in Trolls and Dudes are different. This is because Trolls on Treasure Island began life as a Dudes with Attitude game.

Although Trolls started out as a Dudes game, this was simply for pragmatic reasons, i.e. the game was slated to use the Dudes engine. It was never really meant to exist as Dudes with Attitude 2, aside from the working title of the game while it was in development. It was then quickly turned into Trolls on Treasure Island.

THIS RELEASE:
Although releasing Dudes with Attitude for the Famicom was a simple decision, I was conflicted as to what I should do with its sequel. Aside from the title screen and the game's name, I always felt that the content in Trolls was generic enough that I wouldn't run into trouble with the toy company responsible for the once-popular troll toys, especially with the volume of product I would be making, should I bring the game to Famicom. That being said, I honestly always felt that the trolls were a bit lame - as a result, I personally never played the Trolls game as much, due to this bias. So the idea of releasing the game as a Dudes game intrigued me, especially since the game began life as a Dudes game. This is what we could have gotten, in an alternative, parallel universe.

PRE-ORDERS AND LIMITED EDITIONS:
As much as I hate doing pre-orders (yes I know there's also one I'm currently doing for Thunder Blast Man 2 by Retro 22), that's how I've got to do this one. My vision is to make a limited edition of the same design and caliber as the limited edition Dudes with Attitude games I did last year. We'll use the same purple cartridges, and those who get the limited edition will also receive a book that is similar in design to the Dudes book they received. I want these to be seen as a set, and this is the way to do it! As such, I need to do pre-orders so I know how many of those purple translucent cartridge shells to order, as I don't generally use them for my game releases.

WHY ARE THERE TWO BOX DESIGNS?
A good friend of mine designed this box art, and he sent me two designs. Instead of randomly sending them out or using one design for the limited editions and the other for the normal releases, I decided to just let people choose the design they prefer. Who knows, maybe someone might even want both.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
The last day to pre-order Dudes with Attitude (Part 2) is January 19th, American time. As January 19th is a Sunday, there may be a slight grace period on my end, but don't assume that I will keep it open much past the deadlines. After January 19 is over, I'll close things off when I get to it, likely a day or two after.

SHIPPING:
Everything is designed and fabricated, ready to go, aside from the actual shells (and if I get a ton of pre-orders, possibly more chips). Orders should start going out mid February.

I'm personally stunned that people give a shit about Dudes with Tudes enough to a)spend money on a 60 pin version and b)spend money on a reskinned 60 pin version of Trolls to make a fake sequel.
