Hi everyone!  I am a 22 year-old retro game enthusiast who started out on the NES at the age of 4!  I have owned and played a NES since then, using a Honey Bee adapter for imports and an owner of the PowerPak since 2007.  I have coveted the Twin Famicom since I first read about it at the age of 11, and yesterday I finally acquired the Turbo model AN-505BK!   ;D  I just sold my PowerPak to a friend and am anticipating that the InviteNES flash cartridge will be much more capable.

Like previous posters, I also enjoy the expansion sound capabilities of many Famicom games and the Disk System.  It's exciting, especially since NES games in my region weren't capable of such expansion!  I'm also interested in the latest developments of the homebrew community as well as the occasional pirate original that's actually of decent quality.

Though I am a huge fan of the Famicom, Super Famicom is still my favorite console.

More about me:  I'm what is called genderqueer, not identifying as a man or a woman; you may notice I prefer to use ambiguous language in most situations to convey the way I think.  Also, I'm currently studying Chinese and Japanese, though I am not yet fluent in either language (Asian language would be my more 'serious' passion  :fire: ;) ).
Game on!   :redcart:

Let me know how it is. I'm considering saving up for one. So far the Power Pak is my only source for playing FDS games, & people say the extra audio is not so great on that.

Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. I've always loved the NES (own 1 CIB Action Set, 2 loose front-loaders, and a top-loader.) I've always admired the Famicom for it's looks, cartridges, and legacy, so I'm looking into finally grabbing an original model and getting it AV modded. My goal is to one day have every shoot 'em up released for the console, as well as the 6 Rockman cartridges, but having only loose copies of Gradius and Gun Nac, I've got quite a ways to go.  ;D
I'm looking forward to the opportunity of sharing my growth and experiences with everyone here. Thanks for having me, Famicom World.  :redcart: That little cartridge is rad.
I'll probably die surrounded by plastic crap.

Hi, Welcome I hope you will enjoy it here.  :)

GBK666

Heya Famicom / NES World

I am GBK also known as Reinhold Hoffmann there in the grey and dark real world

I came across this forum because i saw that i got a few visitors on my own website from here almost every day due to it being mentioned / linked in 2 threads..today i thought i look at this site to see what it is about :-)

I am 32 years old, the NES was my 2nd console and i still have one  as you can see on this wonderful photo..and yes..i am mostly a fighting game guy

I am not collecting old games anymore but i am trying to preserve a part of the glorious video game history / past with art projects by gamers. Some of you might have read about the Legend of Zelda art project "Link's Blacklist" as example where the many..many monsters and boss characters of the Zelda games are drawn by mostly professional artists who are also gamers. This includes even the Zelda 1 & 2 characters which are hardly illustrated in any form beside a few old concept artworks. Via Game Art HQ.com a community i build up in 2011 we try to document gaming history with visual art and well, maybe this topic will interest some of you here as well

Greets from Germany, i hope writing a thread about Link's Blacklist as example or an Castlevania Art Tribute which is in the works currently is allowed

I get so jealous when I see people's collections all sorted neatly and presentable like that... mine is a Godawful mess.  Welcome to FW.

Don't worry, Nightstar699, you're not alone.
I'm jealous of all those collections, too. Mine's really scattered around in boxes, on shelves and god knows where else.

L___E___T

Haha, mine's hidden away in boxes, shame.  I hope to get it all out one day and document.  Welcome all, time to check out that art project...

大事なのは、オチに至るまでの積み重ねなのです。

well, mine's hidden in two boxes too. if it can be called a collection :)

manuel

If it's a collection to you, then it can be called a collection.  :)
Doesn't matter what others say.

Hi everyone :)

I am 26 and i love nintendo :) I am a great pokemon fan  and i have a lot of nintendo stuff both retro and new :). Also i love to draw  stuff :).

jack of all trades

I'm also new on this forum  ;D

I'm from Germany and I grew up playing with the PAL NES.
Only a few days ago I got my very first Famicom, an AV Famicom to be precise.

I just can't believe how small and compact the AV Famicom is. It even makes the SNES Mini appear bulky  :D

I think I've fallen in love, haha. I really like the small colorful cartridges with the big artwork on front.

Now I'm eager to get some more famicom games and maybe a 72->60 pin adapter to play my NES games with a better picture quality and higher speed.

Make sure to get one that works with special games, including Castlevania III ;)

Of course, you could get Akumajou Densetsu instead. :-\
