I'm also new on this forum  ;D

I'm from Germany and I grew up playing with the PAL NES.
Only a few days ago I got my very first Famicom, an AV Famicom to be precise.

I just can't believe how small and compact the AV Famicom is. It even makes the SNES Mini appear bulky  :D

I think I've fallen in love, haha. I really like the small colorful cartridges with the big artwork on front.

Now I'm eager to get some more famicom games and maybe a 72->60 pin adapter to play my NES games with a better picture quality and higher speed.

Welcome, Ibuki. Congratulations on owning the ultimate gaming machine, it doesn't get any better than the AV Fami. Though I use an NES controller on mine... those dog bone controller cords are incredibly short.

I found a link to a page here when looking up  :mario: Somari on google. I play NES and famicom games with JNES on my computer. That's right, I don't need pay for any game I talk about! Or needing to pay to for a console to play them! This is  what I like about ROMs: one person pays  for the entire world!  ;)

Hello.
Found the forum while googling for an obscure Famicom game.

I'm 36, gamer since childhood, collector since 2007, living in the middle of South America.
Started collecting everything, but years later I shifted my focus to shoot'em ups only.

Love the Famicom/NES, it's my favorite 8-bit system. Some of my old favorites are Mega Man III, Battletoads, Batman, Metal Storm, Astyanax, Gradius, Ninja Gaiden, Super Sprint.

Welcome, I think you'll like it here.  :)

I've been on the forum a few months now, so I guess I should do a little intro.

I'm Jackson, I'm 28, and I'm from Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. I've been a gamer since my family picked up an NES when I was about 4. I built up a decent little collection raiding yard sales in the '90s, but started buying up lots of stuff only about three years ago. My collection is right around 600 carts (more than half of them NES). I have played nearly every NES game made, but I only keep games in my collection that I enjoy playing.

I started buying FC carts to supplement my NES collection, and they've since become my second-largest collection. (I'm nearing my 100th FC game.) What can I say? 8-bit gaming is my favorite, regardless of region.

Hello fellow gamers,
My name is Corey and I am currently living in Texas. I am 30 years old and have been playing video games since the age of 3. I started off playing my cousins Atari 2600 and got my NES for Christmas the following year. I still own that same NES and my collection has grown quite a bit since then. I have wanted to start collecting for the Famicom for years now but for some reason I never did until just last month. I now own a Famicom and Disk System and picked up a large lot of games to get me started. I look forward to future conversations with all of you.

Hello everyone. I visited this Website numerous times over the past 4 or 5 years, recently realized there's a forum!  ;D

My very first experience with Famicom was a Toaster NES when I was two years old (so they tell me). I've always held a special place in my heart for this system as well as the Super Famicom. From rented games that would dirty up my system to going to Toys R' Us to gawk at the game isle, As well as the lure of Funco Land. :-[

I've seen a good portion of yesterday and can't wait to experience some more with you all.

TMBlitzK

Hello everyone.
I just recently found this site a few days ago and it had a lot of info on Famicom stuff, so I decided to join.
I'm TMBlitzK, my real name is Throckmorton. I'm a 16 year retro video game collector (sort of). I own around 18 different consoles. I just just got a yellowed-out Famicom online recently because I always wanted one as a young child and I never had a Japanese game console before. My Famicom collection is minuscule but  I'm slowly building it up by ordering games on ebay. I've discovering cool games that weren't released in America on the NES like Kid Dracula. I also plan on getting a disk system in the future because I want to get "Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic". Besides gaming, I'm very interested in Japanese culture and would like to learn Japanese as a second language.
Anyways... Thats enough about me.

Nightstar699

Welcome aboard, sir. Akumajo Special: Boku Dracula Kun is one of the best games I've ever played, without question. The Famicom is full of great exclusives, just as is the NES.

Hi guys! Great place! My name is HÃ¥kon, and I live in Oslo, Norway. I'm only just getting into playing and collecting Famicom games, after a friend of mine picked up a FC AV for me on a recent trip to Tokyo. I'm more an arcade collector than I am a console collector really, but I'm ready to make an exception for the Famicom. I find the system very soulful. Looking forward to hanging out with you guys! :)
