Nimation

Hi, I'm Nimation and pretty much unwelcome on every single forum on the internet. Banned for flaming, trolling, name calling and other stuff.
I'm just kidding. I hope I can have a good time here and learn more about Famicom!

P

Sounds good! (jk) Welcome to Famicomworld! :)

Hello!  :bub:

I'm Charles from the U.S.
I've loved Nintendo since I was 3, and was voluntarily peeing my pants because I didn't want to stop playing my favorite games.
(Thankfully that's all behind me now)
I never got too into the Famicom itself until my one year stint as an English teacher in Japan last year. The Akihabara retro game shops became my stomping grounds of sorts. I bought a super Famicom, and a few games. I knew I couldn't buy much more at the time because I didn't have a lot of room to take it home with me, and I didn't want to pay for shipping (a bad move in hindsight)
Anyways, I became fascinated with all of the Japanese only FC/SFC (etc...) games that I saw there. I also got to see some big names in FC music play live.

So basically now, I'm even more obsessed with old games than I ever was.
I hope to contribute to the conversation and have some fun times posting on the formus.
Thansk!
;D

Hello all!

I've been putting off starting a famicom collection for a long time now, and the time has finally come to take the plunge.

The NES was my first console, loads of amazing memories playing it right up until I upgraded to a playstation 1 a year or so after it's release (managed to skip the 16-bit consoles completely somehow). My childhood NES stuff is long gone ('lent' to someone by my big brother) and I always wanted to buy back everything I had as a kid and play some old games again.

That was until I discovered the famicom, the same console with more (ugly) style, amazing box art, all the games I had as a kid plus piles more weird and wonderful Japanese oddities. Since then I've been waiting for the right time to start buying, and I guess the right time for me is now!

I've lurked a lot, read a lot but I'm still a relative newbie. I'll try not to ask too many stupid questions!

Thanks for having me  :D

Hello all.

Just starting a Famicom CIB collection, so I thought I better register here.  Great, knowledgeable community you have, so joining is a no brainer.

I've been retro gaming for many years, but never had a NES back in the day, so don't know that much about the NES\Famicom really.

I have my 1st game, a mint, CIB copy of Akumajou Densetsu.

Not an easy game to beat though.

So yeah, its all good. :D

Will be seeing you around the forums.

Welcome to Famicom World! :)

Good job on getting Akumajou Densetsu. It's a fantastic game!

Introducing my new forum. Classic Nintendo Gaming (CNG)

Hi all! My name is Anton and I'm not new to Famicom World. I love this forum and people, read it almost every day. I've also made some pretty nice deals with manuel, 80sFREAK and Xious and got my FDS  and many famicom games from here. But this is not the main reason of this post.

I want to introduce you to my new Nintendo dedicated forum called CNG (Nintendo Gaming Forum).
This forum is a split up from a dutch forum called Palrocks, where I was a moderator for almost 5 years. The main reason of Palrocks ending was that the forum became too general and was flooded with non Nintendo and nextgen topic's. So many true NES collector's and gamers where loosing interest and leaving forum.  Soon after Palrocks shutdown the hardcore members and moderators created new forum called CNG, that is only NES/SNES/Famicom/N64/Gameboy and G&W dedicated. No other consoles are allowed. At this moment we have 119 members, most of them are from Palrocks which we have selected by their profile.
The main goal of CNG is to create a good international platform for Nintendo collectors and to enjoy our hobby by playing games.  The most popular topic is the NES play-off where we finish NES games, post pictures and get achievement points. Now we have one for Famicom games, so I figured maybe you guys/gals  can help us  :upsetroll:
So CNG is originally a Dutch forum but we have many international collectors form Europe and US. All of you are welcome to join, trade and enjoy! CNG is a private forum, so you have to send an email with you name, interest and your nick to info@nintendoforum.nl and I'll create an account for you. CNG forum url is www.nintendoforum.nl
I hope that Famicom World mods don't mind my introduction post.

Thanks!
At Classic Nintendo Gaming Forum we play nes/famicom games! Join us at http://www.nintendoforum.nl
