Hello everyone!  I'm Mike and I just recently acquired a Famicom and 12 games which I posted about over on the 'What Famicom stuff do you own?' thread  I've been gaming since the early 1980s starting with the Atari 2600.  I decided recently that I wanted to start collecting for an 8-bit Nintendo system and settled with the Famicom.  I hope to have some good discussion here.

Hello all!

My names Mo and I have just recently got back into 8bit/16bit systems. The old games are much more fun and satisfying to play. I can't believe that after all these years my NES & Famicom have been neglected however at least I kept them  :)

I have just ordered a Famicom disk system (new in box), just started to collect the disk games. I was going to purchase an Xbox 360 but I find I can very easily get bored playing new gen games so I kept it old skool to my delight  ;D

Thanks to this informative site I have got loads of info, particularly regarding the disk system.
Plant you, feed you, grow you like a flower, like NINTENDO now you're playing with power!!

Hello everyone, I have been visiting this board for some time now but decided to be a member today (like a coulpe of minutes ago). I dont own a Famicom or Disk System but im not even close to be a FC/FDS noob.

Im planning to buy a "New Famicom" and a "Disk System" in a not to distant future, right now I only have two original FDS games (Akumajo Dracula & Dracula II) but have played the rest of the games on emulators.

This seems to be a nice board and I hope i´ll be here for long. Btw, im a 29yr old male from Sweden.

Welcome!
Nice to see another FC fan from Europe. ;D
I hope you like it here. :D

Welcome...It's cool to get perspectives on the Famicom from around the world. I'm waiting for someone from Africa to join. I wonder if any part there ever got 8-bit gaming.

MaxXimus

It would be a shame and a loss if they didn't.

The Famicom got worldwide, trust me. If it wasn't the original console, the pirates did (like in olde USSR), or Brazil and the Gradiente thing. Everybody's got it my friend ;).

BTW I had a Chinese classmate and I asked him about the FC scene in China, and he told me both Famicoms and NESs were sold side to side back in the day, they got both! :o You know the Hong Kong Famicoms and Asian Version NESs right? Also I got some good multicarts from him :D.

I think that anyone on Earth who have seen a TV set, can relate to Super Mario Brothers or some other 1st gen game, no matter if it was a Famicom, or a NES, or a Dendy Junior, Phantom System, Polystation, and countless more. They're the 8 bits that unite us all ;D
