I never would have noticed. :O

On a semi related note, the pokemon Ekans and Arboc are just snake and cobra backwards.

nurd

It''s actually Arbok, with a K.

Probably bekause K's look kooler than C's. :P

MaxXimus

I was thinking it was a K too, but then I second guessed myself. Gah,lesson learned! Go with your first instinct.

Kuvio

Yeah, there are actually a lot of other references to Alucard in other Dracula works.

FamicomFreak

WOW that's awesome I didn't know about pokemon snakes and I'm a pokefan!   ;D

You didn't know about Ekans/Arbok? Then here are some you might not have realized:

Charizard = Char + lizard
Pikachu = pika (Japanese onomotopoeia for "Light Sparks.") + chu (Japanese onomotopeia of the sound a mouse makes.) may also be a refrence to the artic rodants also known as Pikas.
Hitmonlee = hitman/ hit + Bruce Lee
Hitmonchan = hitman/hit + Jackie Chan
Eevee = based around the first two letters in "evolve". Also spelt the same backwards.
Dragonite = Dragon + knight (as in, knight in shining armor)
Wobbuffet = wobbly + tuffet

Kuvio

Yeah, I knew all of those! Thanks for making me feel somewhat intelligent!  ;D

Bulbasaur- Bulb + Dinosaur
IvySaur- Ivy + Dinosaur
Venusaur- Venus (Fly trap?) + Dinosaur
Squirtle- Squirt + Turtle
Wartortle+ War (I think + Tortoise + Turtle
Blastoise+ Blast + Tortoise

And where the hell did the big metal cannons in it's back come from? It's like a robot, parts of it's shell fold up, to use cannons. WTF?

also something of note: in all of the main games, your character is always in the centre of the screen. You don't actually move around the world, THE WORLD MOVES AROUND YOU.

michaelthegreat

In Soviet Russia, Castlevania world moves you!

nurd

I think he was talking about pokemon world.

In Soviet Russia, Pokemon run up to you, beat you up, put you in a ball, and make you fight with other people.
