Has anyone played Family Kid, the Sonic hack?  I was going to purchase for $20 from a friend, but I don't know if it is worth it.

Alright, I bit the bullet and paid $45 to my friend for Family Kid and Bio Miracle pirates shipped.  Hope it was worth it!

I've been looking for Family Kid for a long time. It's definitely a rare hack and worth $20. I don't think I'd pay more for it, since it's just a hack. I'm not familiar with the game itself...I'd be curious to know how much of it is hacked.

My friend has gotten a few copies of this game in the past, if any more come in I will let you know.  I think he normally sells for $30 shipped (from Thailand), but I can probably get him to sell for $25.  I will post a few pics and give my impression when I get it.

I happened upon some screenshots during a search. It appears to be a basic hack:  title screen and main character. And the name seems to be just "Family" on the title screen. The label says "Family Kid."

what sonic is hacked? I'm not familiar with Bio Miracle?

The game is merely called Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm not sure what port it may be. It was hacked.

Bio Miracle is a completely different game, an original on disk and cart.

My impression of this game is it is pretty remarkable that the Famicom was able to handle a game with such high speeds and great color.  It plays a little bit like Sonic 1.5, all of the dashing is there like Sonic 2, but there are spots you need to slow down like Sonic 1.  Game is ridiculously hard though.  Also, there are many pits you can fall into and can't get out, which is upsetting.  Overall, nice addition to my collection, now I just need Somari.  Also, does anyone actually have Sonic with Sonic as the character, or do they all have Mario or Family Kid?

Haven't played this much, so no comments yet.  Let me know if you want any other pics, such as the title screen, etc.  I never played the original version of this game, so I can not say for certain if anything is changed.

Nice! The name of the company and the name of the game are "Family," right? There's a title screen that removes "Somari" and just inserts "Family"? From what I've seen, the label is the only place the game is called "Family Kid." I'm pretty sure there's got to be a version of this game with Sonic, though I've never seen it. I've only seen the kid and Mario.

And I like the label on that Bio Miracle. I've been interested in the little character on the label, because he's associated with some unlicensed originals. On some labels, the dude is exposing his penis.
