Favorite Super Mario Bros. game?

I'd have to go for three, it's one of my all time favorites, but the others are big hits with me aswell.

They're all fantastic for different reasons: SMB for being the first, SMB2j for difficulty, SMB USA for being so different, and SMB 3 for being not only so massive and having the most features, but it's the best selling stand-alone game of all-time; that's gotta count for something.

I'll say 3 because it's the most fun IMO if you have 2 people. You probably knew this, but the 2nd player can force the 1st player enter the Mario Bros. battle and vice versa. This one friend of mine can get me EVERY...SINGLE...TIME I pass over his space, really testing my MB skills so I can not only beat the minigame, but grab his cards away from him before he can get mine. Oh, the reset buttons we've pressed

I agree. Three kills the rest. It's got so much going on with it, as nespwnerer said, especially with the two player option and mini-battles. But the worlds and levels are so diverse and you hardly get bored. Plus you've got all the secrets (that are no longer secret) and the hidden levels unlocked by the genie. It's overall so awesome.

Yea, i will go with SMB3, belive it or not i was only just able to finish it the other day, but it was the NES version.

This Poll is kind of unfair in a way, SMB3 takes the majority, if not all the votes when it goes in polls. Everyone loves SMB3, its's just so perfect in every aspect you think about it.

I wonder what everyones favourite SMB game is besides SMB3?

If we drop SMB3, I'd have to go with USA as well; despite the fact that's it's just a hack, it's got great gameplay, cool enemies, and some challenge. If we're allowing hacks into the debate...Fancy Mario and Fast Mario are fun takes on the original, as I imagine All Night Nippon would be, too. There's something about the overplayed SMB that turns me off. I haven't delved much into SMB2j yet.

I agree for Super Mario 3... because this is great game and I think that is the best game for NES... in 1990 it´s considerated "the most popular game in the world" of this year.. I really like them!!!

Well, SMB2 is great, too, but it's not as great as 3, so I guess that's why it has no votes. And only some 10 people voted, so statistically the pole doesn't have value yet.
