Is there any sort of case/cover for loose carts?

How do you guys store your games? I don't like the carts bare and loose in my box, is there some sort of case like the DVD cases we have for PS3 and XBOX?

Are you talking about something similar to NES sleeves but for Famicom or hard cases like this Rad Racer is in (which by the way I'm selling</solicitation>):

Someone here in Portland is selling a bunch of those. Is $60 a good price for 45 of them?

I don't care for those kind of cases, hence why I'm selling one with Rad Racer. :P

I'd be interested in something for Famicom carts, though, seeing as how they tend to be more delicate.

ericj

I never really liked them either. I think the games are big enough already without a big ass case over them. :P

There is another topic about this on here: http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=2425.0

Yes, for the Famicom they made little cases to fit loose carts. There are generic ones and then one that look more official, with Mario on them or something. They're a bitch to find in bulk. Every once in a while I see one or two for sale on YHJ.

BTW: It's much easier to find plastic cases for loose disks. They sell those in bulk on some Japanese sites and you can sometimes find them in bulk on YHJ.

As JC said, there are cases for loose FC carts, but they seem to be rare and somewhat hard to find.

If anybody wants some, a YHJ auction for 20 cases is here:

JC

That auction's been listed over and over. It makes me think these things can't be too rare if no one will buy that box of them. But if they're not rare, where are collectors buying them? Don't know.

I have the solution you're looking for. Get a bunch of Universal Media Cases and print your custom covers. Read about it here:

UMC's are better than any other cover solution on the market because they have sleeves for inserts (which if you have photoshop skills can generate an awesome shelf collection!) and they fit almost everything VG you can possibly think of.

Without any sort of modding of the plastic grooves inside the case, they are to designed to fit and hold:

Famicom, SNES, Genesis, Sega Master System, N64, and CD Jewel Cases

They work so well that I modded two cases, glued them together and created a storage case for the Famicom Disk System RAM Adapter!

I use the old cassette cases for them. Of course I can't store all of the carts in just one but they help placing them away in my closet.

I don't have cases but print out my own paper dust sleeves with the Nintendo logo on them. It's neat. I'll upload pictures if anyone wants to see them.

JC

Show us. I'm interested. I'm trying to find a way to keep the dust off my games but not have them in storage boxes.

Are those famicom cases regular size cassette cases? If so, then casing wouldn't be so hard to find, I can just use old music cassette cases.

The Mario ones are on ebay:

But $10 for just one, no thanks.

Satishi, wow that is impressive.
I like the neat and clean designs. How much do you charge per label (assuming you offer that service)?
Syzygy01, yes please show us some pictures, I'm interested.

You can't fit a Famicom cart in a cassette tape case, because the Famicom cart is thicker. But! I have a nice cassette tape case case, yes "case case," -- a case that holds tapes that are in their plastic cases -- that fits Famicom carts perfectly. So, a Famicom cart is about as thick as a cassette tape case.
