And what the HELL is wrong with the American site??  Everytime I try and log in with my Firefox-remembered username and password...it says it's WRONG!!   Any help?

Had the same problem. Looks like a global glitch that hit a lot of people. What you have to do is use their password recovery system and then just enter a new password (or your old one) and things will start working again.

Also, I have two different copies of the same game...since they have different serial numbers...does that mean I could register them twice?

No you cannot register the same title twice, even if you have two different codes. Sorry.

I've got 830 coins, though at the moment I only have 30 to spend.

Just ordered the Game and Watch Collection...I got about 300 coins from going to friends houses and asking them for the little slips behind the manual...

Anyone else have any recommendations for 1st party Wii/DS games?

I'm getting Tetris DS and Animal Crossing: City Folk for Christmas (In addition to NWC 1990 Repro and a U.S Neo Fami!!) So that's 80 Coins right there...unless AC has more because of the Camera or whatever it is...I doubt it though.

Have you played Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: Wild World? If so, you've played Animal Crossing: City Folk. If you like platformers get Wario Land: Shake It, it is phenomenal.
