Um...yikes? I've been using this one bowl since my first year in college. I bought it at a CVS and it was the only bowl they had. It's got this dumbass beach scene on the inner bottom and says "Sunshine," "Surf," etc. around the sides. I flipped it over the other day and noticed it says MELAMINE on the bottom. Not sure I should be using it.

If the plastic bowl you're using was made with melamine (typically a melamine resin is used), you may want to consider switching to glass or ceramic. Plastics have many compounds that are released as they are heated or age. Not the least of which are estrogenic compounds/endocrine disruptors, which can lead to a whole host of hormone-related problems. I personally avoid using plastics for food or drink unless I absolutely have to.
