This is prone to be interesting.
Level select:
Press Select, Select, Select, Select, Select, B, B while map mode. Then press Select to enter Level select screen.
Did you mean it would be interesting to see how many worlds there were?  If so, the demo version, even on level select only has 4.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

That and it's also interesting that they put cheats in.

Wow, Nenson - this wasn't "post all the codes for games you know" thread.  We have Gamefaqs for that.

nensondubois

Yeah but these codes are incredible. Most of these codes are not at gamefaqs last I checked and I don't feel like searching.

Here is the place I got them from. I should have posted this with them but I forgot to.

I don't know why I did it that way. If I find something of interest, next time I'll just post a link unless it's something really small.

I'm more interested in the Sonic debug codes. I haven't tested them yet.

I tried it on Sonic The Hedgehog nes, and it indeed does take you to the screen, but you can't select levels. If you select one, it just shows the little movie of the developers playing.
Sorry folks.

Somari gives you spacial options! ::)

Famicom game rips off Fantasy Zone.

Or maybe it pays homage?

Anyway, there's this Famicom SHMUP called Fuzzical Fighter that rips off Fantasy Zone in some ways.

When you start the game you might think it's an RPG, but in some ways it is. Each level has a town where you can buy weapons, armor, magic, items and increase your HP and MP. Once you buy what you need, you enter the shmup stage.

Notice how the weapons shop (top store) has an icon that looks exactly like Opa Opa (the Fantasy Zone ship). No biggie since the actual Fuzzy ship (yeah, that's how it's called) looks a lot like Opa Opa too.

But it becomes really obvious when you reach the boss of stage 7. He behaves exactly like the last boss in Fantasy Zone, he draws lines on the screen much like the FZ last boss lays impenetrable wall/lines on the screen.

Milon's Secret Castle has another ending :O

This is kind of old (in Internet age), but a few weeks ago AdamL from GameFAQs let me know of a "cheat" posted for Milon's Secret Castle saying that if you beat the game 4 times in a row (it's actually only 2 times in a row) you get an extra ending.

I went ahead and tried it out and indeed, you do get something different for your second quest ending:

Totally not worth it, but I guess finding out about an extra ending for a 20 year old game we thought we knew everything about was kind of the exciting part!

Medisinyl

/\  That screen almost seems to suggest there would be something else if you beat it more times in a row.  I've never played the game, but maybe that person is right about 4 times (if possible).

ReyVGM

You can only beat it twice in a row.
After the second time, it goes back to the title screen instead of restarting in the castle.

Not sure if people know this but in Gyruss if you do the Konami code backwards you get 30 lives  :o So instead of Up, Up Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start you press B,A, Right, Left, Right, Left, Down, Down, Up, Up Start.

Nightstar699

Does that code work on the Nes version?

Off-topic: lasersamurai, you have the greatest screenname ever.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

lasersamurai

Yes the code works on the NES and FDS version of Gyruss.  :P
