Does anyone know of other forums like this where they exchange/discuss various video games, like for Sega systems or other Nintendo systems?

Tupin

I go to Digital Press for another forum like this. I also go to a different styled site called NSFCD.com.

The latter is more set up for discussion rather than trading and can be random, but it's pretty good.

Well if you'd like to descend into the Internet version of Hell,
you can always head over to NEO-GEO.COM, I left there
after 6 years of posting recently.  ***Cool place, and quite a big
community for the 16/24-BIT Neo:Geo MVS and AES home console,
just know it has hella "attitude" and you'll probably get sucked into the
drama.  If you want a class act place like here (I love this place, more
or less the only forum I post at now), you won't find it there, but it's got
it's own charm.  Don't bump any threads older than a week (if that) or
you'll get flammed hard, and anyone who's a newb there will get hazed
for probably 4 to 6 months.

Other than that, someone already said "Digital Press", which is
cool beans, but I've found at times the place can get a little too
hoity-toity for my own liking.  I like this place the most.
Gaming peaked in the 8-Bit & 16-Bit eras...
all else is just rehashes and insanity passing

I'm actually quite glad we haven't had too many run-ins with elitist and pompous people here. A lot of other forums suffer from that.

I'd love to post at digitpress, but forums where too much is going on scare me off. I'd find it too weird if I went off the computer for an hour, and came back to see like 50 new posts. :-/

As a general rule, the guys on Atariage are pretty friendly, and easy going. There have been occasions where the members have gotten pretty fired up on there over particular topics... but those are few and far between in my experience. Elitist/pompous isn't a word I would use to describe the forums there.
Only a lurker at Nintendoage, and I haven't gotten a chance to post over at PCenginefx yet, though I recently signed up there.

Toneman

Yeah here and PCEngineFX are several laid back places.

In regard to AgentX's comments about Neo Geo.com, he's not the only one.

The part that pisses me off the most is the "thread necromancy" issue, (flaming people for bumping old threads)

The same thing they're flaming you for is what it's really supposed to be, is that if there's a topic you want to discuss, you search if other people have done the same. That way it won't be forum space eaten up. simple as that.

It's stupid flaming people for bringing up old threads. That's a lot better than creating 20 threads with the same contents.

Toneman

To tell you the truth I'm beginning to think YouTube is becoming a little too dangerous as well, people be post alot of unnecessary hate comments cause they lost touch of the difference between a "skill playthrough" and a casual showing of a game so that people can be nostalgic over.

nintendodork

Yeah, and all of that stupid spam in the comments...
Plus, the people who go around surfing videos on Youtube to leave hate comments on are idiots.  Just because someone is good at a game doesn't mean they're a nerd or have no life, it just means (in most cases) they're good ::)
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

Well most people are just lazy to begin with, then add in "The Immediacy of Cyberspace"
and patience goes right out the window.  And with that birthed the horde of E-Thugs and
E-Tough Guys.  I admit, I kind of got carried away in some of the drama over at that place
(Neo-Geo.Com), but only after I realized that carrying on in *meaningful discussions* be
it about video games in general (website specific content) or life in general, just wasn't
going to be taken seriously.  Basically over there, and at other places, anything longer than
this post so far will get you ganged up on, and bumping a thread from say 5 months ago
puts you on people's shit  list.  It's just plain sad really.  :-[

Yeah bro, we've both seen a lot of changes in ppl's net habbits since we first met over at
Alex's Sega Master System Museum back in 1998, and it's generally for the worst.  I often
wonder just what in the hell is wrong with ppl that every YouTube posting (no matter the content)
is rife with meaningless drivel?  Basically I just think ppl want to get drunk on the Haterade is all.
I can't stress enough that I'm glad someone (from NG.COM of all places) directed me over here
to Famicom World, as so far I'd say it's class act.

Here you're expected to look for old threads and revive them instead of creating a new thread about the same topic. The way it should be, I think!  ;)

Uh huh, or on casual game showings, you got these perfection Nazi's who like to leave unnecessary negative comments nitpicking on your gameplay,

"Ohhhh you used a life refill!"

"This is a cool game, but u're a horrible player"

"You suck!"

"n00b"

"Cheater!"

I had a video of me and my nephew beating an arcade game start to finish, but what do I get? Elitist snob comments...."Speedrun-O-Philes" if you ask me

Sorry guys I could really go on forever about this shit.

And let's not forget my personal favorite: Becuase my natural thumb fires at an abnormally fast pace, my Megaman 3 Wily Castle vid is flooded with hater comments cause they think I use auto fire.
