Yikes!  I was going to ask if there was a typhoon there or not, when I heard about those winds.  You just need to stay safe, and hopefully it will pass by within the day or so.

Where I live in Taiwan, I am quite lucky as the mountains shield me from the typhoons.  So when typhoons come, we will get heavy rains and some winds, but not nearly the damage as in other areas of Taiwan.

THanks!  The typhoon has passed, and no major damage except the tree and some minor playground structures! I know the typhoons can be pretty bad in Taiwan, we get hit about once a year or so in my part of Japan!

Read an article about the last remaining video store in my home town.  I used to go there all the time as a teenager.  Good to see that Jeff is still at it!

An interesting read.   I used to work in a video store in the early 90s when I was in high school, but haven`t set foot in one in years.  I do miss them, its cool to see one still up and running.

A quote from that article:

And although he sells his former inventory of video games -- including games from classic systems like Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 -- Mitsui said he no longer rents them due to their fragility.

SNES/N64 carts fragile? I resent that! >:( Okay, I broke a couple tabs on N64 carts before. :upsetroll:

By the way, Joe, mind finding out what games he's selling? It'd be a darn shame if he has a Dinosaur Peak or Sculptor's Cut that would otherwise go unsold. ;D

I assumed he was referring to disc-based games with that comment.

I'm very tempted to stop by the next time I am in Jersey, just to say hi and see what games he has left.

Bah!  I ate a snake too, well pieces of snake (with bones still inside) in a snake soup.  Does that make me brave too?  Hehehe.

As for the last thing I did, well in about 5 minutes, it will have been "drank a well-earned glass of wine."  Luckily I go into work a bit later tomorrow, so I need to relax.

So you can call yourself Snake Eater.  8)

I imagine a snake would taste like an eel... but I don't really know.
Can you describe it?

You're all making me sad about murdering snakes! Last thing I did was scan in 28 pages of bullshit that my ex husband has filed in court

I have never eaten eel, so I am not sure how that tastes (like fish maybe?)

Snake just tastes like chicken, or other common meat.  But the thing I did not like is that there are so many tiny bones inside the body, sort of like tiny fish bones, and that makes it not so easy to access the snake meat if you don't know what you're doing (and of course, I didn't know what I was doing, since I only ate snake once).

Actually, here is a link to a personal blog post (with video) where I ate the snake soup.  I am posting this here against my better judgement, but enjoy:

Back in the States many people eat crocodile, in the south.  I would like to try it some day, but it doesn't seem too crazy to me.  I would never want to eat tiger though, due to the limited number of tigers remaining in the world :(
