Watching TV on PC

Well, I'm looking for a way to watch it without having to actually pay for cable/satellite, which is what the service above seems to do, at least for a select few channels, like the BBC.

There's always Hulu.

Also, you could get a USB TV tuner (as 133mhz suggested) and use it to watch ATSC channels over-the-air for free (ie, local channels and the big networks in HD for free).  It varies from location to location and the quality of your antenna, but it's definitely free.

My friend has all of the channels he has on cable, but on his computer...I forgot what the service is called...I could have sworn the name had something to do with "Sky" but, I can't exactly remember...I'll ask him and get back to you.

Yup, get the cheapest PCI or USB TV capture card you can find. Mine was like $30 a couple of years ago and it can decode every color system ever made, also it can tune into NTSC-J channels.
