There aren't many signatures up that require questioning. But I'll start this thread off with featherpluck's:

"If grunge is dead he's buried next to God"

Hmm?

"Speaking as a child[teenager] of the 90's "  8)

JC

Is it a direct quote from something I should know?

Perhaps I take things too literally, but how is "grunge" a "he"?

featherplucknfilms

They're both lyric quotes from obscure 90's rock.  anyone know?

Doc

My sig used to have a quote from the film, "Field of Dreams", but I took it off because I'm going to add another quote when I'm not lazy. :P

JC

Actually, JL's signature makes sense to me. There's no way to get from the forum back to the website...but you can always just click JL's signature. I have yet to add a link somewhere on the forum homepage.

Because I care, featherpluck :-*

For Squirrels - "The Life Inside Me Killed This Song"
Pearl Jam - "Habit"

I've never heard of For Squirrels...reminds me of "Be Like the Squirrel" -- White Stripes, clever song.

Haha, yeah JC!!!  Except slightly wrong but right at the same time :)  I forgot about this as well.  Originally, "speaking as a child of the 70's(not 90's)" was from Mike Watt with Eddie Vedder in "Against the 70's" but then Eddie used it again in "Habit" for Pearl Jam.  "The Life Inside Me Killed This Song" actually was a For Squirrels song but two of the members died in a crash and then the remaining two members formed a new band, Subrosa, who then released this song on their only album.  But for anyone who likes 90's rock but doesn't know For Squirrels, you should take a listen.  Really good stuff, maybe you'd recognize one or two songs that were minor hits.  Also Subrosa is one of my favorite bands but maybe the taste is a little more acquired than For Squirrels.

JC

I saw the name Subrosa and wasn't sure what it was referring to. I thought maybe an album. I hadn't heard either of these lyrics before you mentioned them. I'm definitely going to check out the songs; it's from an era when music was good. It's hard to find songs that hold any lyrical value anymore.

The For Squirrels album is named Example and it's only a penny! One of the best albums ever.

And Subrosa - Never Bet the Devil Your Head.  Some of my friends that like For Squirrels don't like Subrosa but I love 'em!

And here's Mike Watt - Ball Hog or Tugboat? I had this CD when it came out but I sold it since I just liked a few of the songs...but now that music sucks this is probably great so I should pick it up and check it out again after all these years.

That kind of reminds me of a keychain quote.  But I can't quite remember it.  I'll let you know the next time I visit that dollar store. ;D

It was this: "Sometimes I wake up grouchy, other times I let him sleep." :-\

JC

Hey, featherpluck....are you working on some websites? Or at least, did you buy a couple web addresses?

featherplucknfilms

yeah, i got a couple domains.  www.famicomgames.com just goes to my ebay store and then www.famicomarchives.com is the site I'm slowly but surely working on.  It'll basically just be a page of pictures of different famicom stuff and also magazine ads and handbills, with some info.  It's hard to find time to work on it but sooner or later it'll be around.

Doc

We'll make sure to link it when it's open. :)

Good luck with it. It'll be awesome to see what interesting items you've discovered. You know, we're always willing to publish some of that stuff on FW. :)
