My Dad was never a big videogame guy. Only when it came to the arcades. He used to love those. Never bothered with the systems, though. I guess because he was used to using quarters...

JC

Could have had him give you the quarter. ;)

Speedy_NES

Amiga 500.  So many nice memories :)

Me personally a NES, but when I was born we had Atari 2600 which I still have too.

Commodore64 and Atari2600. Although I lived in New York City right when the NES came out. If you know you're Nintendo history you know that NOA debuted their system in NYC in the fall of '85. I was one of the lucky ones who got that first batch. The rest of the country had to wait several more months before the national release. I think I was there the first day they put the demo system up in FAO Schwartz.

OH MY GOD, SAME HERE! Actually, we were VISITING NYC at the time, and my Mother was like "Look, it's like Atari", and I was like "Ok". I thought I was the only one on the internet who got it via NYC in 1985, but glad to know someone else did.

The first system I remember playing was a TG-16, then my grandma gave us her NES and games, and then later we got an SNES for Christmas one year.

The first one I remember buying was our N64. Me and my bro saved up for one.

Well, I'm pretty sure I didn't buy it right when it came out. All I can really remember is Goldeneye was pretty new when I got mine. And it wasn't all me and him; we had help from my parents.

Not sure if it was an Atari 2600 or a Commodore 64.

The first system I owned was an NES of course. ;D I had Game & Watch, but that doesn't count as a system.

The first system I played was an Atari 2600 at a friend's place, though.

I got my SNES and my GameBoy for Christmas of 1995 I believe.  I was 10.

Before then, my mother said that videogames where bad for children, and she would not let me own a single game.  :'(

It was the year '89 or '90 when i got my first NES ( still own her   :D ) with Super Mario Bros & Duck Hunt.

Ahh, the times when mom and dad would try to get me to stop playing the thing, because i had to sleep or eat or do other "stupid" things.  :D

"taking away" my Nintendo was considered punishment in my household for many many years haha! I would find where my Mom hid it and hook it back up to play it. When my mom figured that out, she just kept it plugged in, but if the AC adapter was warm, she knew I was playing, and I got in even bigger trouble haha!
