Super Mario Bros. 3 is still a favorite for me. Others are good too, aswell. I also like Big Nose The Caveman, lol. I never knew why I liked it...

JC

SMB3 is awesome because it's got so much going on, lots of unique levels and it's challenging.

But I've got to go with Bubble Bobble. I was raised on this game and still get a thrill out of the storyline, with the uplifting happy ending.

Doc

Bubble Bobble is a very fun game, I agree with you on that. It's such a blast on Turbo mode, too. Bubble Bobble part 2 is a little better, IMO.

JC

BB2 is cool 'cause you can inflate and float, and then you have to maneuver ever so carefully to accomplish goals. But BB1 is a classic that can't be surpassed. It's all in the storyline, I tell you. Plus, you're allowed two players at once, AND tell me you don't get excited with the cane or chest that gives the BIG diamond, etc.

Super Mario 3 would come in first. Other favorites are Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Mario 2, and Mega Man 3.

Hahahahaha, I love that game for its two player feature alone, but there's also Turbo button mode, which makes bubble shooting look so much funnier. I hate how Part 2 costs so much money...I regret the day I sold a lot of my rare stuff for school...

On SS's point, I like Mega Man 3 a lot. I'm not a big fan of the Ninja Gaiden series, however. I just find the series a little...overrated at best. Ninja Gaiden 2 was the best of the series, however to me that isn't saying too much. I must agree with Mega Man 3, however. Super Mario USA was good, but I always got so lost on what the heck the storyline was when I was little...

JC

Ever since I found out that SMB2 was essentally Doki Doki Panic, I've been unsure of it... :-\

As in...?

JC

Well heck, JL, seems like a rip of a game if the creators just piggybacked on Doki Doki. A bit pathetic, don't you think. >:(

That's why I wouldn't call SMB2 (or USA) a fav. I think it's legit to call Doki Doki a fav. :)

Doc

Not really, since the improvements over Doki Doki Panic make it much better than Doki Doki Panic. As in 1. You can run in Super Mario Bros. 2, but you can't run in Doki Doki Panic, which makes it harder to do anything. 2. Clawgrip is an exclusive enemy to Super Mario Bros. 2 ONLY! Doki Doki Panic does NOT have him, they have a third Mouser instead. 3. Doku Doki Panic in general feels like a hard game, and it'll generally scare away a lot of Japanese players, which is why it turned out to be a big flop in Japan. That doesn't mean that I hate it, however. I think the game is actually pretty cool. But that may just be because I like the game both ways: Doki Doki Panic AND Super Mario Bros. 2. :)

JC

I hear ya, and I knew that some changes were made. I just think it's shady to hack Mario characters into a game like that. :P

Doc

Well, they had to do what they had to do. Super Mario Bros. 2 didn't seem kosher for NOA, so they had to act fast...

JC

What about that Super Mario Special -- anyone know what that's about? Would that have been an option for Nintendo, instead of releasing a hack!
