That's the one... Here's an internet picture of what I saw:

So yeah, just wondering if this is particularly interesting beyond being valued for being a Mario game.
Thanks for the title L_E_T.

Its basically just like original Mario Bros. and that game isn't particularly the funnest game.

While the core gameplay is pretty much the same as Mario Bros., it's not the exact same thing.  The graphics are improved, as well as the jumping physics.  It was also tied into a promo for Nagatanien products, so there are cut-scene ads.  It is also able to save your high score.  Some more info here:

Definitely something I'd like to own at some point.

That sounds pretty cool.. and I actually like the classic Mario Bros.

I'm not sure which was  my first exposure to it, but I know I spent hours and hours and hours and hours and hours playing the Mario Bros. Battle in Super Mario Bros. 3 with my cousin.  Love it.

I think what your talking about was my first exposure and also it was a nice tip of the hat for SMB3 to its roots Original Mario Bros.

Same here - but the original Mario Bros is nowhere near as fun as that.  In SMB3, it's a remixed competitive mini game that has a nice risk / reward mechanic tied into it that's relevant to the core game.

Mario Bros on it's own is a strange collection of bad SFX, bad physics and bad gameplay ramps, depending on how you look at it...

Don't get me wrong, I do kinda like it - but after playing SMB3 Mario Bros it's hard to go back to the original and not feel a little uninspired.

Yeah I know it's pretty stiff and rigid compared to the SMB3 version, but I still get a kick out of playing it.  It's hard to remember, but I do recall playing it as a kid, though I'm not sure if it was before the SMB3 version.  Either way, I've kept, or maybe developed a love for it over the years.   :mario:

Anyone knows what these two games are? I can't make out the code for the first one but it looks familiar.

The first one looks very familiar, but I can't put my finger on it... The test reads "Tsubasa no Hito" ("man/woman/person with wings") if that's any help.

The second one says "Salamander - All 3 games in 1"
Subtitle: "The legendary Salamander"

I just noticed the second one has another label underneath - looks like someone just stuck a magazine clipping or something over whatever was there originally. So I guess theres no chance of identifying that one really. :D
(although its quite likely to be Salamander, I suppose)

My guess would be Legendary Wings, but I have no way of confirming that without screenshots.
