Something special about this Mario version?

It looks like its Super Mario Bros usa but with the textures from SMB2j

Cheetahmen

That's a pirated version of the first game where some pirates replaced the graphics with the ones from the second game. ;)

Looks like Milon's Secret Castle as far as I can tell, which makes sense given that the cartridge is yellow.

Just a quick help needed here - name this game Please!  :redcart:
(BTW: is it just because of my pirate version on a multicart, or a standalone original game is also that crappy? )

fredJ

Cheetahmen: Thanks!  :D

jpx72: Hokuto No Ken. It is famous for its crappyness.

Gradius Archimedes Hen

QuoteThere was a special version released for the Famicom in Japan, called Gradius Archimedes Hen. This is a special promotion cartridge that was a tie-in with a ramen company. It's the same game, but all of the power up capsules have been replaced by floating bowls of noodles.

(via http://hg101.kontek.net/gradius/gradius.htm)

It's among the rarest Famicom carts, possibly the rarest of all.

Parodius Duh

Certainly not the rarest of all (The gold carts and other prize carts are above and beyond rare) but thats definitely a super rarity and an awesome score if you got it for cheap!

UglyJoe

Ah.  Well the sticker is faded, so maybe that is discouraging bidders.  There's another one on there with a brighter label (although it's been ripped at the edges).

One of those games that are probably only ever popular with a few number of collectors within Japan.....

I think there's just no bids because most of them are in shitty condition. The Archimendes-sticker isn't very resistant it seems, so most loose copies come with faded and scuffed stickers that make them rather undesirable.

A mint condition Archimendes Gradius, however, is quite rare and expensive. The box also featured the same red triangle sticker and there was a small folded sheet that explained the Raamen-soup items. This little bonus manual in particular is quite hard to find, most copies that turn up on Yahoo are just the box + game + standard Gradius manual. Complete copies can cost up to 25-40'000 yen depending on the condition.

I won some super cheap FDS Disks from ebay, can anyone identify the Japanese ones?

I see Potlabor and I think SMB2 there

Most of that last one are obvious, except for the one on the top right. I was planning on using anything not good or not gaijin friendly for rewriting purposes.
