For those who know japanese fluently (I'm lookin at you Manuel ;)) could you please translate some of my Famicom game titles into English equalients (or at least as close as you can)? Here they are:

Famicom Jump! Eiyuu Retsuden
Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu
Gegege no Kitarou Youkai Dai Makyou
Getsufuu Maden
Hissatsu Doujou Yaburi
Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsu ni Shoyu
Ikki
Matendouji Crystal Palace
Takahashi Meijin no Bug-tte Honey
Walkuere no Bouken Tokino Kogi Densetsu
Youkai Douchuuki

thanks!

manuel

Some of those seem a bit hard to translate, but I'll try anyway.

Famicom Jump! Eiyuu Retsuden
-> Eiyuu = hero; retsuden = series of biographies
I don't know how to get that into a good English title. ???

Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Douchuu
-> Ganbare Goemon = Do your best, Goemon!
    Karakuri = mechanism, trick, deception, intrigue
    douchuu = along the way
This is a very weird title. I'd need to know the contents of the game to judge what title would be best, as karakuri has a lot of fine nuances between its different meanings.

Gegege no Kitarou Youkai Dai Makyou
->Gegege no Kitarou = it's a manga from 1959 about ghosts
    youkai = ghost
    dai = big
    makyou = world of demons; a place of vice; ...

Getsufuu Maden
-> The Evil Legend of Moonwind? (weird title again...)

Hissatsu Doujou Yaburi
-> Certain kill. Escape from the Dojo

Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Okhotsu ni Shoyu
-> Series of murders in Hokkaido: To disappear in Ohotsk
(the last word isn't read "shoyu", but "kiyu" as much as I found out)

Ikki
Not sure... that seems to be a Name.

Matendouji Crystal Palace
-> Skyscraping Boy: Crystal Palace

Takahashi Meijin no Bug-tte Honey
-> Master Takahashi's Honey the Bug

Walkuere no Bouken Tokino Kagi (not "kogi"!) Densetsu
Valkyrie's Adventure: The Legend of the Key of Time

Youkai Douchuuki
-> Ghosts' Travel Journal

Here's a couple stumpers:
They aren't mine, I just found these around the net and couldnt figure out what they were.

Mario has a mustache therefore, he is a man.
Luigi has a somewhat smaller mustache, he is less of a man.
I have a bigger mustache than both of them.

Looks like Banana Prince, SMB2j and that cool Kunio game with where you race, then beat the shit out of each other, then climb a pole.

manuel (or anyone else) I've got a few more game names I'd like translated please and thank you...

Chuuka Taisen

Gegege no Kitarou - I know I asked about this one already, but I'm a little confused. From what I know of Japanese, "no" is a possessive word ('s in english) and Kitarou is a boy's name (I'm assuming the lead character) but what does gegege mean?

Reigen Doushi

Son Son (I'm assuming this is a name?)

Reigen Doushi: れいげんどうし

The Heartless Companion

Chuuka Taisen: ちゅうか対戦

Middle Kingdom War

OR

Midsummer War

Ryou Maboroshi Doushi:

りょうまぼろしどうし

I have no clue how to translate this, I mean it could be

The Skill of the Companion Illusion

or something like that but who knows you didn't show me the kanji

Nazo no Kabe means Mystery of the Wall

謎の壁

or in hiragana

なぞのかべ

Gegege no Kitarou just means

Kitarou's Gegege

ゲゲゲのきたろう

WTF a gegege is I dont know but it's not a word.

Kieta Koukeisha (きえた後継者) means "The Dissapearing Succsessor"

EDIT: WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THIS FORUM NOT ACCEPTING JAPANESE CHARACTERS INPUTTED ON A MAC, JESUS CHRIST DO I HAVE TO USE WINDOWS >,<

Gegege no Kitarou

That's a long-running manga/anime.  Gegege is more than likely some Japanese onomatopoeia.  For what it's worth, AniDB lists synonyms for the anime as "Cackling Kitarou" and "Spooky Kitarou".
