It's one of the few coded Whirlwind Manu games CaH4e3 doesn't have on his site.

Can't figure that one out.  Translates to "Romantic Adventure".  The boy's shirt says something in katakana, but I can't make it out.  Also, his hat has a D or P on it.  If someone can post what his shirt says, I might be able to figure out what game it is.

Pirate for sure. The cart says unbeatable program. I'm wondering if it's Super Mario USA or Super Mario Bros 2.

Are you sure it's katakana? The last 2 characters look like "TA", it might be "DOTA".

the artwork and title come from "Bouken Roman", aka "Dota" which was released on various computers - a famicom version was planned but supposedly never came out. (it's mentioned on this page,  you can see the artwork in question on a flyer here). i'd be very interested to know just what's on that pirate cart - it's probably just some other game mislabelled, but maybe (maybe) it's time diver all over again...

Crap. It ended before I got a bid in. I'll have to find another one (maybe with a better label). So, for now the mystery remains, I guess.

Looks like unreleased game for me. LF carts mostly are FDS hacks, probably game was somehow released on FDS then pirated? Maybe stolen and pirated.
