Please recommend me some games that can be played without struggling due to language barrier and that did not have a NES release. I am wanting official games only and not suggestions for bootlegs.

Thanks!

So I take it that means none then?

Hmmm I thought Splatterhouse is kinda expensive. Its awesome though.

I would have to recommend Armadillo, Kaiketsu Yanchamaru 2, and Daiku no Gensan the most. They're all terrific platformers, Armadillo and Kaiketsu 2 are usually around 9-13 dollars, Daiku no Gensan is around 20.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

Thanks for the recommendations.

It's just that this topic has been posted so many times before, we figure you would've looked or something.  A few I recommend are Joy Mech Fight, Recca, Super Mario Bros 2, and the stuff that's been mentioned above.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

To be honest dude, when I look around I pretty much see post about pirate carts and that is it.

There a number of very simple games that should be cheap:
milk and nuts, Goonies, Binary Land,

Ones that may not have too much play time but are still cheap and interesting:
Bokosuka Wars, Bird week, Pooyan, Devil World

Interesting if you like certain nes games or series:
Castlevania III over there has completely different music
Gradius II came out over there but not here
Adventure Island 4 - a huge improvement to the adventure island series--a little more metroidvania
Wai Wai World 2 - Konami thrown into a blender - better than Super Mario Crossover!
Contra - pictures between levels

If you like types of games try:
shooter - Chrisis force
fighter - Joy Mech Fighter
Platform - Don Doko Don 2 (2 player splitscreen!), Hino Tori (create your own blocks), Holy Diver (like castlevania), Gimmick (expensive but great)

"Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti"
+1 this game is stoopid fun!  ;D

If you like space shooters, get yourself salamander (it's hard). and keep your eyes peeled for a copy (pirate) of Recca.

Other good ones... are the Ninja Kun series. fun arcade style platforming. Grab some multicarts if you can... cheap way to get a lot of common games. Mighty Final Fight is great.

"Hammerin' Harry" is another fun one. Don't know the Japanese name for it though. Some of the other guys will chime in.

Castlevania Dracula Special (Dracula Kun) is a great Konami spoof on itself, as is Parodius.

Hammerin' Harry is Daiku No Gensan, which I mentioned.  :)

i bought don doko don 2 based on this advice. the game is ok and definitely NOT 2 player! (let alone split screen)

To avoid wasting money on games you won't play, try them out in an emulator first.  Great tactic to use when you only have so much money to spend.
