Jail bars on Turbo Twin Famicom

Hello,

I've seen threads about jail bars on the Top Loader NES before and how it was a design flaw pretty much. I'm currently experiencing the jail bar effect on my Turbo Twin Famicom. At first I didn't really notice it, but after playing a few games with solid color backgrounds (especially black) I'm now noticing it.

I've been told that it's uncommon on the TF's, but is there any reason I should be getting them?
The AC adapter I got is new, although it's not the original one. I'm using a step-down transformer to get the 100v current, and I'm using A/V out into an A/V converter into my Magnavox TV. I can take pics of the inside guts of the system if that would help.

Thanks!

These "jail bars" are present on : Famicom (original), twin famicom, and the NES Toploader.
The AV famicom doesn´t have this problem , the toaster nes too

Upload a pic to see if these lines are normal  ;)

Correct, every original Famicom I have tried had Jailbars and the reason why the NES Toploader also has them is because to save time redesigning, Nintendo simply used the specs of original Famicom to build the NES Toploader thus causing the same issues.

The type of TV you use should have something to do with how apparent they are, too. Neither my Twin nor FC have visible jailbars, but I use them on CRT tvs.

It's reassuring that it's normal on every Famicom.
I'll post a pic later today just to make sure tho.

Is there a mod that can be done to fix or at least make it less noticable, or is that not possible?

Well I got a screenshot, well more like an extreme closeup. This one is the title screen of Zelda 2 - the sword is on the right of the pic. Anyway, you can kind of see the vertical lines:

Yes that's perfectly normal and I do believe it is fixable I have heard the NES Toploader is fixed by using better quality capacitors in the video and audio traces.

Honestly most people agree an AV Famicom has the best design; but Twins have the bonus of a built-in disk system. So its either have better picture quality or have both carts and disks in one system.

I also note that the vertical bars are not visible on older TVs and old Commodore monitors (e.g. 1702). I think that the problem is fixable either by widening the video trace (e.g. jumpering it), adding extra caps to the signal path, and/or adding extra shielding to it.

I have some doubts on the cause of it, but I don't have time to investigate further until after the New Year.
