That's a neat collection. Is that Doki Doki Panic; if so, I'd never seen a Doki Doki Panic before, which is awesome.

I have a couple questions about those carts. Are they really the disk system versions of the games? You have to remember that piraters often pirated NES versions of games. For instance, the Metroid, Castlevanias, and Bubble Bobble might be the NES versions. And a game like Bio Miracle was released for the Famicom as a cart.

Yes,that is Doki Doki Panic cart. You right  the piraters often pirated NES versions of games. In my collection Castlevania1-2 and metroid are port from NES. Other cart port from FDS. Bio Miracle upa was released as a cart in 1993 year but pirated cart release before Konami remake it as a cart. I believe it port from FDS.  Green  Beret on title screen is Green Beret not Rush'n Attack.  :)

Multi pink cart contain Fulsion, Buble Bobble, Green beret and Highway star(Not FDS). I like this cart because it have Fulsion 3D from konami.

Doki Doki Panic is same Super Mario Bros.2 US version but the charactor is not same. It release early than SMB2.

satoshi_matrix

So it's really just a hacked SMB2 then? ???

Doki Doki Panic is a 1987 game that Koji Kondo happened to do the music for. Its not a Mario game and made no refrence to Mario.

In 1988, once the NES had become extremely popular in North America, Nintendo decided they should release a sequal to the hugely popular title, Super Mario Bros. Problem: In America, the majoirty of gamers at the time were children. In case you've never played it, Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan is one of the hardest platforming games ever released, so Nintendo decided that it wouldn't be wise to localize it. They needed something else for Super Mario Bros. 2.

What their solution was to take Doki Doki Panic, change the four playable character sprites to Mario characters, add a brand new ending sequence, change the title screen music, and make some other minor changes to the sprites. What resulted was a version of Doki Doki Panic with Mario characters. That was relesed in the US as Super Mario Bros 2. The popularity of the game in America prompted Nintendo Japan to eventually release the same game in 1992 called Super Mario Bros USA in order to not confuse gamers with the already existing Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros 2 games for the FDS.

So in short, Super Mario Bros 2 for NES = Doki Doki Panic with sprite changes. This explains why SMB2 is so vastly different from 1 and 3 and why none of its enemies showed up in successive Mario games until around the time of the N64.

I know what Doki Doki Panic is; I just wanted to know how the pirated game was like, I mean how it starts up, if you can save or not; if there's anything special, like stage select or anything.

to hehaji, I'm joking. ;) Images are much desired for me. ;)
to all, most of these games are FDS ports, FDS ports mostly have LG or LH id codes, some of them dumped, some - not.

Jedi Master Baiter

So does Metroid use the North American password feature, but uses the Japanese title screen?
