Ah nice! Thanks. I figure these pirate makers wouldn't spend the time creating anything that complex. The only games on the cart that are original have one or two screens -- certainly not scrolling platformers.

wow like a chinese version of zelda 1

That's cool. I want to track down a source for these games -- three seem to be about 200 of them. They sell CIB in China for about $3.

Here are three of the new pirates I received. The Panda Prince by K (Shin-Shin Electronics Co., Ltd.) is an extensive hack of Donkey Kong 4/The Jungle Book 2/Earthworm Jim 3, etc. It's got a cliche storyline.

To make a short story shorter, that queen panda gets kidnapped by a giant wasp, the king panda frets, and some prince panda head off to the "devil" to find her. :)

Next is Thunderbolt Fighting Plane, which is either a clone or hack. It's got a nice intro, sort of a battle for the survival of mankind and that kid is leading the way...

And then Altered Beast, which is disappointing...

Anyone know Thunderbolt Fighting Plane? I was thinking it was an unlicensed original, but it's too smooth and full of cool stuff -- weapons, enemies, etc. -- to be unlicensed.

I was wondering the same thing... There are no copyrights on the title screen which make me think it's a pirate but you never know because I've seen unlicensed stuff like that also.

I just played through the rom of it.  It sounds like they ripped the title screen music and some of the sound effects from Konami's games.  One of the laser weapons uses the same sound effect as the laser from Gradius. It's unmistakable.  The title screen music just sounds like Konami (kinda like Simon's Quest).

The game itself isn't really that good.  It's nice for a pirate, but the whole game is kinda choppy -- very unprofessional.  Plus, the game has only three stages.  Waaaay too short for a real game.

If you take a look at the PPU viewer when it's on the title screen, you see the tiles that would make up a copyright symbol.  Near that are the numbers 193 (for 1993, I presume) and the letters GAMTEC, which I'm assuming is all the letters you need to make up the name of the "company" that developed and/or published this.

The final boss looks kinda neat, though:

And the ending screen is rather funny:

Ah! Gamtec! Nice. So Gamtec Corp. stole stuff from other games to enhance their own. jbholio doesn't have this on his site, so perhaps it's an unknown Gamtec game.

For an unlicensed original, I think it's very good, though it's lacking in levels.

I need to add this game to my site   :P

NintendoKing

I purchased all of these games just today,
Ninja Crusaders, Cybernoid, Getsufuu Maden, RoboCop, RoboCop 2, Silk Worm and Hole in One Professional.

They are all pirated, but that makes them fun. hehe.

NintendoKing

I only paid 20$ for the whole lot of them.

JC

I don't think I've heard of Cybernoid. Did it have a licensed Famicom release?

FamicomFreak

Wow awesome carts! I used to have robocop pirate years ago. Great memories.
