I was wondering if anyone had a Famicom Disk System AC Adapter they're selling or something.
And also, here's a question to go with that. Will a FDS AC Adapter work on an American outlet? Do I need a step-down converter or something? Don't bother posting a link to the item if it won't work in an Anerican outlet (I live in the US).

so I forgot my famicom world username, and then I remembered and typed in supermetroidbros. But it it didn't work... So I sent to my email and my username was... supermetrIOdbros. wow

I'd recommend a stepdown converter, but you do know the Disk System runs on batteries.

Yes, the FDS adapter will work fine in an American power outlet. I've run Japanese power supplies without a step-down converter and never had any problems.

2A03, I believe prolonged time of being plugged into an outlet would slowly damage it and evetually kill it (possibly also damage the audio and video signals over time) without a stepdown converter. Its not worth the risk to me, so I paid the $25 for a converter.

@ Uninvited Gemlin: I am aware that it runs on C batteries, but I only have 6 (the required amount for the FDS) (ONLY have 6 had to take batteries out of a flashlight to get one). And I have an abundance of outlets and an extension box thing to plug into. So I'm looking for an AC adapter because once I left my FDS for 3 hours, so I can tell the batteries are running out.
@ MasterDisk: Thx a lot for the link!
@ whoever ppl said 'Use step-down converter': I did some quick research and found that a JP outlet gives 100V and a US outlet gives 125V. I don't know if I'm wrong, but would it matter?

A step-down converter isn't necessary. The 7805 voltage regulator in the FC can adequately handle the slightly higher voltage input caused from using a 100V AC adapter in a US power outlet. It's dissipated as heat through the heat sink. You should never really leave an AC Adapter plugged in all the time anyways since that will cause them to prematurely fail. IMO, it's all a lot of worrying about nothing. :P

Thank you for notifying me. I'll go get that plug MasterDisk posted.
But by FC did you mean FDS? Would it matter, bcause I'm asking for an FDS adapter.

It's the same for either one since they both have internal voltage regulators. You can use the same AC Adapter you use on the FC on the FDS.

supermetriodbros

Would you need to have an AC Adpt. in the FC and FDS to work?

They both need power sources, so yes, you would need an AC Adapter in the FC and an AC Adapter (or batteries) in the FDS for them to function.

Would a SNES AC adapter work on the FC or FDS??
