Those pink/yellow/etc. slips that come with the Famicom and the games

What are they? I always see them when I look for Famicom/Famicom games. And how many slips are there with each Famicom/Famicom game? Sometimes I see one, sometimes I see two, even three. If anyone has any info, just tell me.

I believe they are various warnings.  My copy of Mahjong Taisen has a green slip that has information about the AC Adapter and an orange slip that I believe has something to do with the power and reset buttons (the game has a battery backup).  I could be wrong, though, as I can't read Japanese (I can scan them if anyone is interested).  There's a registration slip in there, also.

UglyJoe is right. Many games I have comes with that green warning slip that tells you to always unplug the AC adapter after use. It also says something about a "projection-TV" but I can't quite figure out that part. My Zelda 1 cartridge also comes with an orange slip that tells various warnings about the battery backup like that you have to hold reset when powering off, to not remove cartridge when power is on and to not switch on and off excessively.

I'm not good in Japanese but I can tell you this much.
Maybe someone who is good in Japanese can translate it if you upload a scan.

The "projection TV" part is probably talking about lowering the brightness of CRT TVs and/or not pausing games for too long to prevent screen burn-in.

It says not to run games for prolonged periods on a rear-projection type television--I think this is due to eye-strain on the larger screen, but it may be burn-in as Eric suggests; some may warn that the game will not function properly on a rear-projection television too, if memory serves. (They don't often make these TVs anymore, as the plasma and LCD have replaced them in the marketplace.)

The removing of the power supply is included with many boxed games, and is usually folded in half by the factory. I think these typically came in green and yellow, maybe pink.

I don't yet have a definitive source for what came with what though; especially what slips come with each system. The different revisions of the FC have slightly different packets of paperwork... There are at least five major and distinct FC packaging revisions that I can prove:

The SB FC, with Purple Text
The FC with Purple Text
The FC with Blue Text
The FC with FF Logo on Box (Purple text, IIRC)
The FC (VCCI Model) with FF Logo on box (Blue Text, IIRC)

I may have the last two transposed, and there may be a blue-text version of the SB FC box as well; The inserts that came with these systems, as far as I know, were not constant across all packaging, but I don't know what was supposed to be with each, and until I have a NOS set of each variety, I won't have definite proof.  :bomb:

Yes, that's probably it! It says something about to prevent an afterimage effect.

Here's the scans.  Click for larger versions.

That orange one is the same as mine that I mentioned before. I can't really figure out no. 4 though. It says something about inserting the cartridge straight and to not touch it while playing I think.

OK this is just a general idea of what it means and not an accurate translation! I have to use a dictionary to understand most of it.

The pink one to the right says that you should keep the following warnings in mind in order not to break your precious famicom.

1. Please don't take it apart or modify it.

2. I think it says not to put in metal objects or something in the expansion port pins or it may cause it to break.

3. It says that you should only use the following items with it.
Included items: AC adapter, RF Switch and Controller.
Cartridge: Those that are specifically used with Family Computer.
Peripherals: Keyboard, Gun and Joystick (something is said within brackets here but I don't know what).

It says more at the bottom but I don't have time to translate it right now, sorry. I will look at it some more later if no one else does.

Edit: Sorry I posted without noticing that Xious posted before me.
Aha! Knowing that I now understand what the below text on the green slip says: "Since a rear-projection television may cause a burn-in, please do not use one", or something to that effect.

Your knowledge is very interesting and handy Xious!
