I think it's silly to exclude NES exclusives like Power Blade. Power Blade is a significantly altered and better than the Famicom counterpart, Power Blazer, so yeah. I want Power Blade and a few other NES-only games in the list. It's not like the NES was different hardware.

It was made by Nintendo but for some reason wasn't released in Japan. I would guess that it works on a famicom with a converter and a famicom light gun.

Yes, Rockman 7 is for SFC.

@satoshi_matrix: I don't see a reason why we shouldn't also include some NES exclusives, as long as they're playable with some sort of adapter.

I meant that you included Rockman 7 in your list. You said only official famicom and FDS games.

Including NES versions of games when there is a famicom version shouldn't be needed I think (as there might be differences), but NES exclusives are a harder case IMHO.

I've been pondering on this, and I'm working on a list, which is taking a while because I'm busy with service orders. My major obstacle is perspective: There are some fantastic games that should be on a top-50 list, but they require reading Japanese to play. Is this a list of top-50 games for English-readers only, or simply the top-50 games of all time?

P.S. What is the deadline?

I don't have a fixed deadline, but I thought about letting the nominations go for about 2 weeks.
After that the real voting will start.

As it seems there are people who don't want to include NES exclusives or NES versions, I'll leave that open, too. Until now we have 2 votes pro and 2 contra. Just post in this thread how you think about it and the option with the most votes will be used.
